Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

You have made a pact with Zariel, the Archduchess of Avernus. Zariel lives to judge the battle prowess of her enemies and allies alike, and expects those who seek her patronage to do the same. Never backing down from a challenge or adversary, those with the patronage of Zariel are always prepared for a fight, even in the most comfortable of social settings....

Expanded Spell List

Zariel lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Zariel Expanded Spells

Mark of Death

Starting at 1st level, you gain the ability to discharge the hellish energy of your Blade of Avernus to place a Mark of Death on a creature. When you successfully attack a creature with your pact weapon, that creature must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your warlock spell save DC or be marked for death for 1 minute. This mark ends early if the target dies, you die, or you become incapacitated. At the beginning of its turn, a creature with your Mark of Death take force damage equal to your CHA modifier.

Once you've used this feature, you can't use it again until you complete a short or long rest.

Blade of Avernus

Starting at 1st level, Zariel gifts you a weapon forged in the hellfire of Avernus, as well as a glimpse of her battle prowess. You gain proficiencies in shields and martial weapons, and you can create a pact weapon in your empty hand at will. You can choose the form that this weapon takes (see chapter 5 of the Player's Handbook for weapon options). You are proficient with it while you wield it. This weapon counts as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and  immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.

In addition, when you attack with this weapon, you may use your Charisma modifier, instead of Strength or Dexterity, for your attack and damage rolls.

Devilish Accuracy

Starting at 6th level, your zeal for battle matches that of your patron, guiding your hand to the weaknesses of your enemies. When you attack with your pact weapon, you may treat any d20 roll of 9 or lower as a 10.

Ruthless Pursuit

Beginning at 10th level, your bloodlust cannot be quenched once a target is in your sight. When you make a weapon attack or cast a single-target spell against a creature with your Mark of Death, you may ignore all cover and make the attack roll with advantage.

Mark of Zariel

Starting at 14th level, you can spread your Mark of Death from a slain creature to another creature. When the creature marked by your Mark of Death dies, you can apply the mark to a different creature you can see within 30 feet of you, provided you aren’t incapacitated
