Base Class: Fighter
The Cuirassiers are the heavy cavalry of the Dwarven Reyx. They are the masters of mounted combat and when their boars are fully mature form the shock element of the army. While not as versatile as the Storm Troops, the Cuirassiers literally crush and trample all who try to stand against them.
The Cuirassiers are chosen from the ranks of the Foot Troops and the Light Cavalry. As the heavy shock elite the Cuirassiers from the Hammer to crush the enemy on the wall of the Dwarven line, or the Anvil. Cuirassiers are selected from any able bodied citizen of the Reyx. Fighters that have proved their combat prowess are selected to join the Cuirassiers as a Spitzer or point-man wielding deadly pikes or glaives. At this time they are given a newly weaned Kriegboar (Shoat) that will develop into a fearsome mount once the Cuirassier earns his or her spurs as a Hussar.. The next step is as a Uhlan or light cavalry scout the Kriegboar (Barrow) is able to keep up with the mounted warrior but is still too small to be a mount. The next stage is what most think of regarding a Cuirassier, the Hussar. Now riding on their Kriegboar (Boar) carrying deadly lances the Cuirassier fights as one within the squadron. The last two levels are refinements the Ritter and the Schwartzritter. Forming elite companies and mounted on their massive Kreigboar (Hog) or Kriegboar (Hogzilla) they are one dwarf (other) and Boar wrecking balls.
Kreigboar Shoat
3rd Level: Upon induction in the Cuirassier ranks, the new Spitze is bestowed a newly weaned Kreigboar Shoat. The Kriegboar will grow alongside its master / mistress as both learn how to fight as one deadly instrument in the Dwarven Reyx' war machine.
Charge. If the boar moves at least 20 feet straight toward a target and then hits it with a tusk attack on the same turn, the target takes an extra 3 (1d6) slashing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 11 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Relentless (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). If the boar takes 7 damage or less that would reduce it to 0 hit points, it is reduced to 1 hit point instead.
Tusk. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 3 (1d4 + 1) slashing damage.
Hedge Hog Formation
3rd Level: The Cuirassier-Spitze is trained on how to effectively wield the pike when on the defense.
When attacked by a melee attacker that started the turn outside 10 feet from the Spitze,; a single AOO with advantage may be made if armed with a reach weapon that is piercing. Spitze learn how to form pike walls forming a deadly porcupine of pikes that is designed to disrupt a charge, (Setting Spears).
Animal Husbandry
3rd Level: During a short rest the Cuirassier applies special poultices (prepared after a long rest), to speed up the healing process. The Kreigboar can heal using Hit dice following the short rest healing rules.
Healing Poultice: After a Long rest the Cuirassier creates a healing poultice using common medicinal herbs costing 10GP.
Kriegboar (Barrow)
7th Level: The boar is not large enough to serve as a mount but is a deadly companion fighting alongside the Cuirassier-Uhlan
Charge. If the boar moves at least 20 feet straight toward a target and then hits it with a tusk attack on the same turn, the target takes an extra 3 (1d6) slashing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 11 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Relentless (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). If the boar takes 7 damage or less that would reduce it to 0 hit points, it is reduced to 1 hit point instead.
Tusk. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) slashing damage.
Defensive Riding
7th Level: The Cuirassier- Uhlan, is now mounted on a light riding horse. While learning to ride the Uhlan serves as the scout and screen for the veterans on their Kiegboars. The motto of "Without my mount I am nothing, without me my mount is nothing" is drilled into the Uhlan preparing him or her for when he or she is riding on a mature Kriegboar.
- You can force an attack targeted at your mount to target you instead.
Kriegboar (Boar)
10th Level: A fully Mature Kreigboar is a fierce and loyal mount and part of the Hammer of the Dwarven Reyx. It is now tougher and more durable. HD go to 1D10 (add 2 HP to all level advancements prior to Level 10)
Charge. If the boar moves at least 20 feet straight toward a target and then hits it with a tusk attack on the same turn, the target takes an extra 7 (2d6) slashing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Relentless (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). If the boar takes 10 damage or less that would reduce it to 0 hit points, it is reduced to 1 hit point instead.
Tusk. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) slashing damage.
Hammer of the Reyx
10th Level: Armed with deadly lances the Cuirassier-Hussar is trained to take advantage of being a mounted shock trooper.
- You have advantage on melee attack rolls against any unmounted creature that is smaller than your mount.
Kriegboar-Hog
15th Level; The Kriegboar is now a fine instrument of war, crushing all under its hooves.
Charge. If the boar moves at least 20 feet straight toward a target and then hits it with a tusk attack on the same turn, the target takes an extra 7 (2d6) slashing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Relentless (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). If the boar takes 20 damage or less that would reduce it to 0 hit points, it is reduced to 1 hit point instead.
Tusk. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 20 (4d6 + 4) slashing damage.
Irresistible Force
15th Level: The Cuirassier and Kriegboar have become attuned with each other that the Hog can anticipate certain AOE attacks and avoid taking or mitigating damage.
- If your mount is subjected to an effect that allows it to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, it instead takes no damage if it succeeds on the saving throw, and only half damage if it fails.
Kriegboar -Hogzilla
18th Level: The pinnacle of the Kriegboar is the so called Hogzilla, these massive, armored beasts tear through enemy formations.
Relentless (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). If the Hogziila takes 27 damage or less that would reduce it to 0 hit points, it is reduced to 1 hit point instead.
Anticipate. If the Hogziila makes a DC 10 Wisdom check it will act at the same time as the Cuirassier, this attack uses one form of the listed attacks and is in addition to the attack actions made by the Hogzilla.
Multiattack. Hogzilla makes two melee attacks: one with its spiked tusks and one with its shodden hooves.
Spiked Tusks. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 5) slashing damage plus 7 (2d6) piercing damage.
Shodden Hooves. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 5) bludgeoning damage.
