Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Oozeweavers are warlocks who have forged a pact with primordial ooze entities that dwell in the deepest, most corrupting depths of the multiverse. Their patrons are ancient and enigmatic slimes, jellies, and oozes that embody the essence of primordial chaos and transformation. Among their revered patrons are powerful entities like Jubilex, the Faceless Lord, and ancient, Genius Loci, whose influence shapes the very fabric of their magic.

Through their bond with these malleable beings, Oozeweavers gain the power to shift their forms, summon swarms of corrosive slimes, and wield the raw, acidic might of their patrons. They often present as fluid and ever-changing figures, their forms hinting at their slimy origins. Their spells and abilities reflect their connection to the ooze, allowing them to manipulate their physical appearance, summon gelatinous minions, and exude a corrosive aura that can wear down even the most resilient foes.

In combat, Oozeweavers are both adaptable and resilient, capable of engulfing enemies in their shifting, acid-laden forms or unleashing swarms of slimy creatures to overwhelm and disorient adversaries. Known for their adaptability and resilience, they thrive in environments where others might falter, drawn to dark, secluded places where they can deepen their bond with their ooze patrons and gain knowledge and power from their ancient, ever-shifting allies.

Slime Infusion

3rd-level Oozeweaver feature

Your connection to your slime patron allows you to infuse your magic and weaponry with acidic power. You gain the following benefit:

  • Acidic Armament: When you summon your Pact Weapon, you can choose to have it deal acid damage instead of its normal damage type.
  • Slime Familiar: You can cast Find Familiar as using your pact of the chain feature you can summon an oblex spawn instead. It deals acid damage with its attacks and can perform all the functions of a normal familiar (delivering touch spells, scouting, etc.). The Oblex Spawn retains its ability to mimic simple speech and perform the functions of a normal familiar (delivering touch spells, scouting, etc.).
  • Corrosive cantrip: When you cast a Warlock cantrip that deals damage, you can choose to change the damage type to acid. When you do so, the cantrip’s appearance changes to reflect its corrosive nature; for example, Eldritch Blast might appear as a stream of bubbling green slime, or Fire Bolt as a jet of sizzling ooze.

Additionally, when you change the damage type of your cantrips to acid, you ignore resistance to acid damage.

Amorphous Body

3rd-level Oozeweaver feature

You gain resistance too acid damage and learn Alter Self it counts as a warlock spell for you but it doesn’t count against the number of spells you know. You can cast Alter Self without expending a spell slot a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.

When you use the natural weapons of your altered form (such as claws or fangs) from Alter Self, you deal acid damage with your unarmed strikes instead of slashing, piercing, or bludgeoning damage.

Jiggling Communion

6th-level Oozeweaver feature

Your bond with your slime patron allows you to understand and communicate with oozes and slimes. You gain the following benefits:

  • Slime Speech: You gain the ability to telepathically communicate with any ooze, slime, or gelatinous creature within 60 feet of you, regardless of language. While most slimes are not intelligent, they can convey simple emotions, intentions, and sensations such as hunger, fear, or hostility. You can also use this telepathic link to subtly influence their behavior, allowing you to make a Charisma (Persuasion) check to calm a hostile ooze or direct a neutral one away from danger.

  • Ooze Nature: You gain the ability to mimic the movement of oozes, making your own body slightly more fluid and resilient. As a reaction when you are hit by a melee attack, you can reduce the damage dealt by 1d6 + your Charisma modifier (minimum reduction of 1). Additionally, the attacker takes 1d6+your Charisma modifier acid damage as your form momentarily shifts and retaliates with a corrosive splash. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses after a long rest.

Slime Legion

10th-level Oozeweaver feature

You can create a temporary swarm of slimes using your own body. As an action, you can summon 4 Slime Puddles in unoccupied spaces within a 20-foot radius centered on a point you can see within 60 feet. Each Slime Puddle has the following traits:

  • AC: 10
  • HP: 4 (1d4 + 2)
  • Speed: 30 ft.
  • Damage Resistances: Acid
  • Actions: Acidic Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 2 (1d4) acid damage.

For the duration of 1 minute, the Slime Puddles act on your initiative count. On your turn, you can use your bonus action to direct them to swarm a target within 10 feet of any Slime Puddle. The target must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the target takes 2d6 acid damage and is covered in sticky slime, reducing their speed by 10 feet. On a successful save, the target takes half damage and isn’t slowed.

Living Sludge

14th-level Oozeweaver feature

Your Amorphous Body has become the epitomy of slimedon and your body is now more like living sludge.

When you use your Amorphous Body feature, you gain the following benefits for its duration:

  • Acidic Resilience: Your slime-like form grants you resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage from non-magical attacks, as well as immunity to acid and poison damage.

  • Engulfing Form: As a bonus action, you can attempt to engulf a creature of your size or smaller within 5 feet of you. The target must make a Strength saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the creature is engulfed, restrained, and takes 2d8 acid damage at the start of each of its turns. The creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, escaping on a success.

  • Amorphous Movement: Your body becomes fluid and flexible, allowing you to move through spaces as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing.

  • Slime Shield: Your enhanced slime form forms a protective layer around you, granting you temporary hit points equal to 2d8 + your Charisma modifier. These temporary hit points last for the duration of your Amorphous Body feature.

  • Enhanced Strikes: While Living Sludge is active, your melee attack range increases by 5 feet, and you deal an additional 1d8 acid damage on melee attacks.
