Base Class: Barbarian
Although many refer to savages as anyone who lives outside the barrier of civilization, there are true savages in this world, individuals that have grown up in such rural environment that in many ways they are more beast than humanoid. The Savage is this true essence of the barbarian and they take their abilities to an even higher level than others.
Primeval Rage
At 3rd level when you select this path, you can enter into an animalistic frenzy that could even frighten a berserker. Whenever you enter a rage, you may choose to enter into a Primeval Rage instead. While in this rage, you gain the following benefits:
- Your speed increases by 15 feet
- You gain Blood Scent, which allows you to pinpoint the location of creatures who are below their maximum hit points within 30 feet
- You lose all weapon proficiencies but gain a natural claw (1d6 slashing damage) attack while in this state.
- You can use a bonus action during your turn to make a second natural claw attack if you'd like.
- You can make an additional natural bite attack (1d4 piercing damage) whenever you take the Attack action in during your rage.
Regression
At 6th level, you no longer count as humanoid for the sake of being targeted by spells, you instead count as a beast for target purposes of spells. In addition, you may select one of the following benefits:
- Your speed increases by 5 feet.
- Your natural healing ability is better than others. Whenever you take a short rest, you roll 2 hit die instead of one whenever you heal.
- You have advantage on saving throws against being frightened.
- You gain advantage on any Strength (Athletics) and Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks.
Primeval Agility
At 10th level, you gain proficiency in the Acrobatics and Athletics skills and use double your proficiency bonus when making Acrobatics and Athletics checks.
Primeval Toughness
At 14th level, you become extremely difficult to kill due to being hardened by nature. While in a primeval rage you can use a bonus action to gain the following additional primeval rage benefits:
- On your turn and for the duration of your primeval rage, if you have at least 1 hit point, you regain 5 hit points.
- Once during your primeval rage, when you take damage, you can use your reaction to completely ignore the damage dealt
You can use this feature once, then you require a long rest before it can be used again.
