Base Class: Fighter
Every good army needs a commander. This special breed of fighter learns to view the battlefield like a sculptor sees the statue within a block of marble - A work of art ready to be chiseled out of its mundane prison. When a commander takes a control, they can change the tides of a battle, or even a war.
Commanding Words
Beginning at 3rd level when you become a commander, your extensive studies of military strategy and your strong presence on the battlefield now allows you to instruct your allies to fight as a single, polished unit.
Once per turn, when you use the Attack action, you may replace one of your attacks with a Commanding Word. When you do this, a willing creature that can both hear and understand you may use their reaction to make one attack instead of you.
When a creature attacks this way, they add your Charisma modifier to their damage roll and they may use the Weapon Mastery property of their weapon, if they do not already know it. You may replace two attacks per turn with Commanding Words at 10th level, and three attacks per turn at 18th level.
Tactical Repositioning
Starting at 7th level, after pouring over countless war journals, maps, and tomes you understand effective battle placement almost instinctively.
Whenever a creature uses their reaction to accept your Commanding Words, that creature may also move up to half their total movement speed as part of that reaction. Moving this way does not invoke attacks of opportunity. At 18th level the creature can move their full movement speed.
Defensive Position
At 10th level, your continued studies into combat and battlefield tactics has taught you a valuable lesson — Sometimes what you need most is a good defense.
Now whenever a creature uses their reaction to accept your Commanding Words, that creature gains temporary hit points equal to your Fighter level.
Master Tactician
Starting at 15th level, your battlefield knowledge is so extensive that you can plan out the perfect time for your allies to strike. As a reaction, you can grant advantage to one attack roll of any attacking creature of your choice that can hear and understand you within 10 feet of you.
War Cry
At 18th level, you finally achieve the final piece to become a legendary commander - A frightful passion for the chaos of battle. Whenever you use your Action Surge feature, any number of creatures of your choice that can hear and understand you have one use of Action Surge on their turn as well. The creatures have this use of Action Surge for 1 minute or until they use it on one of their turns.
