Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Amethyst Warrior channel the raw energy of the Amethyst Isle to combat the corruption of the Blighted Scourge. They harness their Ki and vitality to protect others, often at great personal risk.

Amethyst Absorption

At 3rd level, you’ve learned to channel the raw energy of the Amethyst Isle and your Ki to weaken the Blighted Scourge. When a creature within 30 feet of you takes damage from a Blighted attack, you may use your reaction to absorb the energy, empowering yourself while partially infecting your body.

  • Absorb Blight: As a reaction, reduce the damage dealt by a Blighted attack by an amount equal to your Martial Arts die + your Wisdom modifier. You gain temporary hit points equal to the absorbed damage.
  • Corruption Risk: After absorbing the blight, you must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw or advance one stage in the Blighted Scourge. On a success, you resist its effects. You gain resistance to necrotic damage and advantage on saving throws against the Blighted Scourge until the start of your next turn.

Blighted Deflection

At 6th level, your ability to manipulate Blighted energy improves, allowing you to use your Ki to turn it against your foes.

  • Deflect Corruption: When a creature you can see is targeted by a Blighted attack, you may use your reaction to redirect part of the energy toward yourself, forcing the attacker to reroll the attack. You then take necrotic damage equal to half your monk level, which cannot be resisted, but does not advance your Blighted Scourge stage.

  • Ki Purification: As a bonus action, you can spend 2 Ki points to help an ally within 10 feet purge a minor stage of the Blighted Scourge. The ally makes a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier). On a success, they remove one minor stage of infection.

*Depends on the level of infection in each stage. Stage 1 needs 2 points per, stage 2 needs 3 points per, Stage 3 needs 5 points, Stage 4 needs 10 points to lower to stage 3.

Blighted Core Strike

Your connection to the Amethyst energy allows you to target and weaken blighted enemies directly, channeling purified earth energy into your strikes.

  • At 11th level, your mastery over the Amethyst energy allows you to strike directly at the heart of Blighted creatures.

    • Amethyst Strike: When you hit a Blighted creature with an unarmed strike, you may spend 1 Ki point to force the target to make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier). On a failure, the creature takes necrotic damage equal to two Martial Arts dice and cannot advance in their Blighted Scourge stages for 1 minute. On a success, the creature takes half damage with no restriction.

    • Blighted Sacrifice: If you are infected with Stage 3 of the Blighted Scourge, you can use your action to self-sacrifice in an explosion of radiant energy. Blighted creatures within 30 feet of you must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier). On a failure, they take radiant damage equal to 4 Martial Arts dice + your monk level and are stunned until the end of their next turn. You drop to 0 hit points, and your infection is cured.

Eternal Amethyst

At 17th level, you’ve achieved mastery over the Amethyst energy, standing on the edge of life and corruption.

  • Eternal Amethyst Resilience: You have advantage on all saving throws against blight-based effects and cannot advance to Stage 4 of the Blighted Scourge. If you are at Stage 3, you are treated as if you are at Stage 2 for all abilities that affect the Scourge’s progression.

  • Perfect Amethyst Strike: When using Amethyst Strike, you may spend 3 Ki points to deal maximum necrotic damage and force the target to make two saving throws, taking the lower result.

  • Blightbound Life: As long as you have absorbed blight within the last 24 hours, you regain 1 Ki point at the start of each turn when you are below half your maximum hit points. When reduced to 0 hit points, you may remain conscious for one additional round before falling unconscious.
