Bard
Base Class: Bard

Different styles of music have affected the people of the world differently, a sad tune can change the atmosphere of a room. You recognize the power that music has over others and have decided to take it upon yourself, to fully follow the flow. You are an Amp. You are music and music is you. The may now lay down your lyre for now you follow the path that the gods Apollo, Sharaswati, Lord Shiva, Nataraja, and more have kept hidden all of these ages. Your body radiates in perfect synchronization with the songs you know and love. This connection was built by devoting yourself to the Sounds themselves, requiring an in depth knowledge of the ebb of life, and the recognition that every part of life has it's own heart song. The land, is alive. Now, so are you.

Amps use magic that was divined by the Gods themselves, but are unable to perform it at such a level. Amps never forget their beginnings, and remember well the ways of each instrument they've played. But, are able to perform such music by using themselves. There are few greater sounds than those of blade on blade, songs dictating the flow of battle, and can be what they're allies or themselves need to deliver the final blow.

Resonance

At later levels this ability can be manipulated by Crossfade.

Crossfade

The Crossfade is your core to becoming a powerful Amp. Crossfade grants enhanced use of your abilities thus far and further on. While in Crossfade, you can use your bardic inspiration to also give yourself advantage on rolls. You surge with magical and musical power, causing you to become the embodiment of sound, your constantly shifts with the song you resonate with, giving you an eerie glitchy look. Your eyes begin to glow a color based on the genre.

Maestro - Like a conductor to an orchestra, you learn to wield the "lines" of your Resonance and control the flow of the battle. You pull your lines toward you in efforts to sever the connection between your victims. They must make a wisdom saving throw. On a fail, the creatures take a d8 + your spell attack modifier of damage based on the number of creatures attached. Can be used after attaching a line as a bonus action.

Mic Check - You emit a deafening screech dealing 2d4 piercing damage. This is a bonus action.

Rewind -  You can use your action to undo any damage that an ally may have taken last turn, but you also undo any damage they may have done to an enemy that turn. (Resonance damage does not count.)

Pulse -  Through the waves given off via crossfade you can discern any hidden nearby enemies that enter your area within a 10ft radius. Does not affect hidden flying creatures.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you join the School of Resonance at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with three skills of your choice.

Cutting Words

Also at 3rd level, you learn how to use your wit to distract, confuse, and otherwise sap the confidence and competence of others. When a creature that you can see within 60 feet of you makes an attack roll, an ability check, or a damage roll, you can use your reaction to expend one of your uses of Bardic Inspiration, rolling a Bardic Inspiration die and subtracting the number rolled from the creature’s roll. You can choose to use this feature after the creature makes its roll, but before the DM determines whether the attack roll or ability check succeeds or fails, or before the creature deals its damage. The creature is immune if it can’t hear you or if it’s immune to being charmed.

Additional Magical Secrets

At 6th level, you learn two spells of your choice from any class. A spell you choose must be of a level you can cast, as shown on the Bard table, or a cantrip. The chosen spells count as bard spells for you but don’t count against the number of bard spells you know.

Peerless Skill

Starting at 14th level, when you make an ability check, you can expend one use of Bardic Inspiration. Roll a Bardic Inspiration die and add the number rolled to your ability check. You can choose to do so after you roll the die for the ability check, but before the DM tells you whether you succeed or fail.
