Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Barbarians that walk the Path of Spectral Fury have been taught a rare and ancient technique used by some of the very first warriors of old. The technique, through much practice, allows a barbarian to push their anger, their fears, hatred, and malicious thoughts out of their body and soul. All of these negative energies coalesce into an apparition that fights alongside the barbarian - A perfect pairing of two powerful opposites.

Form of Fury

Starting at 3rd level when you begin this path, you learn the ancient technique of projecting one's malicious feelings, hatred, and anger into a corporeal form outside of your body and soul. Whenever you rage, you summon your Spectral Fury - An ethereal form of roiling reddish-orange energy.

You may choose the appearance of your Spectral Fury, and its appearance is purely aesthetic. The form can be as simple as a mirror image of yourself, to a beast that reflects your personality, to any sort of object that suits you. The Spectral Fury is summoned to a spot you can see within 15 feet of you. Your Spectral Fury dissipates when your rage ends.

The Spectral Fury has your same AC, resistances, and saving throws with hit points equal to 1d12 multiplied by your Proficiency bonus . If your Spectral Fury dies, you can summon it again as an action. You may use melee attack actions, melee attack bonus actions, and reactions such as opportunity attacks with the Spectral Fury as an extension of your own self (if you have multiple attacks, one may come from you and the other from your Fury, for example).

When using your Spectral Fury for a melee attack action, you use all appropriate rolls, bonuses, and other pertinent rules (such as attack range) for the attack as though you were making the attack yourself. You are able to move it around up to 50 feet away from you as a bonus action, but only at a rate equal to half your walking speed per turn.

Damage dealt to and/or dealt by your Spectral Fury extends your Rage in the same way that would occur through your normal form. The first attack made using the Spectral Fury deals additional psychic damage equal to your Proficiency bonus.

Furious Scream

Beginning at 6th level, you are able to force a seething outburst of ire through your Spectral Fury, erupting as a deafening roar of anger. As an action, you can make a ranged attack against a creature up to 30 feet away from your Spectral Fury. On a hit, you deal psychic damage equal to half of all damage taken by the Spectral Fury since your last turn, rounded up.

You are now able to push so much of your inner demons outward into your Spectral Fury that you possess a dangerous calm while raging. You are now resistant to psychic damage and you may now choose to sacrifice your Spectral Fury as a reaction to grant yourself advantage on any Wisdom or Charisma saving throw.

Lash Out

Beginning at 10th level, your Spectral Fury has become so imbued with every last shred of your rage that it has begun to have a sentience of its own. Your Spectral Fury now lashes out in anger whenever it is harmed.

The first time your Spectral Fury is damaged in a turn, it releases a blast of malicious energy in a 5 foot radius centered on it. Creatures in this blast take 1d8 psychic damage. In addition, if you would take damage while raging, you may use your reaction to redirect half of that damage to your Spectral Fury. You may redirect damage this way equal to your Proficiency bonus per short rest.

Twin Furies

By 14th level, you have mastered the art of pushing your angers outward from yourself. You now produce a second Spectral Fury whenever you enter rage. As a result of your perfected technique, you have managed to fully empty your body and soul of negative energy while raging and place all of it into your Furies.

Your serene state of mind while raging now grants you an additional 1d6 radiant damage on your first successful hit. Your Furies, filled with pure hatred and anger, deal an additional 1d6 necrotic on their first hit instead.
