Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Hummingbird follow the mantra that even water can cut through solid stone if it moves fast enough. Sharpening their mind, they learn lightning fast reflexes and learn to move and hit like a blur. Masters of this practice are some of the fastest fighters to exist, both physically and mentally.
Credit to u/dragonmorg for the original idea and to Bobbicorn for the additional improvements.
Reflexive Counter
Beginning at 3rd level, your sharp mind and quick foe analysis allow you to strike back at your foes when they attack and leave an opening. When a creature within 5 feet of you misses with a Melee Attack, you can use your reaction to immediately make an unarmed strike against them.
Being Surprised no longer prevents you from using your reaction.
Improved Unarmored Movement
Starting at 3rd level, you learn to move at lightning speed. Whilst you're not wearing Medium or Heavy Armor or carrying a shield, your speed increases by 10 feet. You gain an additional 5 feet of movement at levels 6 and 17, along with an additional 10 feet at level 11.
Repelling Fist
Starting at 3rd level whenever you hit a creature with an unarmed strike and it is not your turn the creature, you can choose to spend 2 Focus points and the attacked creature must succeed a Strength saving throw against your Focus Save DC or suffer one of the following effects:
-
the creature falls prone
-
the creature cannot take reactions until their next turn
-
the creature is pushed 10 ft away from you
Eyes of the Humming Bird
Starting at 6th lvl, your reflexes and awareness have become honed to the point that the world becomes slower to you. You gain a number of reactions equal to your Wisdom Modifier to a maximum of 5.
Your mind has sped up and you can process information much faster. When you make an Intelligence (Investigation) or a Wisdom (Perception) check with your vision, you are considered to have Expertise in the skill, provided you don't already have it and you don't have disadvantage on the check.
Extra Attack
Starting at 11th lvl, when you take the Attack action, you can attack 3 times instead of 2.
Mesmerizing Strike
Starting at 11th level you learn to hone in on your foes weakest points and expose them for a short while. When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike or monk weapon you can expand 4 ki points to make the creature vulnerable to one type of damage until the start of your next turn. If a creature is Immune to that damage type they become resistant and if they are resistant they lose that resistance for the duration. A creature can only have one vulnerability from this ability at a time.
Blur of the Opal Step
At 17th level, you gain the ability to briefly increase your body's natural metabolism and reflexes to unbelievable speeds. As an action, you can spend 4 ki points and cast haste, without requiring verbal, semantic or material components. When you cast haste in this way, you can only cast it on yourself, it requires no concentration and your jump distance is tripled for the duration.
