Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Those who emulate the archetypal Executioner employ deadly techniques passed down trough generations. To an Executioner, combat is just the means to an end, an end which they are more than willing to reach.

Executioners are known for their fighting style of putting their entire will to kill into a singular strike that is said to even behead dragons.

Deadly Critical

At 3rd level, you can role one additional weapon damage die when determining the extra damage for a critical hit with a melee attack. This increases to two additional dice at 9th level, three additional dice at 13th level and four additional dice at 17th level.

This extra damage is not doubled on a critical hit, it is just added at the end.

Marked for death

Using a bonus action, you can mark one target enemy you can see in range (30ft). The target is marked by you until it dies or until you mark another target. Weapon Attacks against this creature score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20. After being hit by your marked target you can use a reaction to call out to the attacker to give them disadvantage on all attack rolls against you this turn.

Headhunt Strike

Starting at 7th level, you can forego one or more of your Action Attacks to condense your strength into a singular deadly strike. For every action attack you drop, your next attack on this turn gains a stacking bonus as seen below; You next attack this turn gains...

  • Bonus damage equal to the max roll of your weapon die
  • Your critical hit chance goes up by two
  • Your critical miss chance goes up by three

This attack can not benefit from advantage, instead if you would have advantage on this attack, reduce your critical miss chance by 2.

When foregoing enough attacks that your critical chances overlap, the Critical Miss chances take priority over the Critical Hit chances.

Deaths Dance

Starting at 10th level, your training on single enemy combat has reached a higher level. When being attacked by your marked target while in melee range, the attacker can not gain advantage on their attacks against you.

Analyze Weakness

Starting at 15th level, you are able to define weaknesses in your marked target. As an Action you can analyze your marked target to find a weak spot. Once analyzed your critical hit chance is increased by two.

You can only analyze a marked target once, the bonus is lost once the marked target is lost.

Pinnacle of Execution

At 18th level, you attain the pinnacle of an Executioner in combat. Your critical hit chance when using Headhunting Strike can never be reduced below 4 (Rolling a 17 or 20 on an attack roll), also when attacking your marked target with a Headhunting Strike you gain 10 Temporary Hitpoints.

When you execute a marked target with a Headhunting strike you gain another Action and a free dash action on this turn.
