Leywalkers are a rare and revered wizard subclass, embodying an ancient magic that weaves directly through the earth itself. Unlike traditional wizards who rely on spellbooks and meticulous study, Leywalkers draw their power from ley lines—veins of raw, unfiltered arcane energy that run deep beneath the surface of the world, through forests, mountains, deserts, and even cities. These wizards serve as custodians of these magical currents, blending the wisdom of ancient magics with the intuition of a sorcerer to tap into the primal forces of the world.

Leywalkers are distinguished by their ability to directly channel ley line energy, enhancing spells or unleashing powerful, uncontrollable effects. They operate as conduits for this ancient power, often displaying magical abilities that differ from typical wizards. Their magic is fluid, adaptable, and sometimes unpredictable. By tapping into a ley line, a Leywalker can strengthen their spells, extend their reach, or even draw upon nature’s fury, but this comes with great risk. The energy they pull from ley lines is raw and unfiltered, and if they cannot control it, it can backfire, dealing damage or even causing unpredictable magical effects.

Ley Line Attunement

Leywalkers begin their journey by attuning themselves to the world’s ley lines. They can sense nearby ley lines and access arcane knowledge about them through rituals. This feature allows the Leywalker to meditate and pinpoint ley lines within a mile radius, making it easier to find powerful sources of magic.

Ley Surge

By tapping into a nearby ley line, Leywalkers can channel a surge of power to enhance their spells. However, this comes with a risk, as ley energy is volatile and can be difficult to control.

Planar Sight

Leywalkers gain a deeper understanding of the magical threads between planes. With Planar Sight, they can perceive and manipulate minor rifts, using their knowledge to travel or send messages across realms.

Ley Infusion

With experience, Leywalkers can store ley energy within their bodies, drawing upon it in times of need. This ability allows them to act as temporary conduits, unleashing powerful magical effects at will.

Master of Convergence

At this level, the Leywalker reaches mastery in manipulating ley lines. They can now draw ley energy from multiple points at once, creating a “convergence” effect that amplifies spells or generates unique, region-altering effects.
