Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

The Deadeye Ranger is a master of precision shooting, known for their supernatural accuracy and ability to bring down foes from incredible distances. Through a combination of intense focus, heightened awareness, and an almost preternatural connection to their weapon, Deadeyes can strike with deadly accuracy, exploiting even the smallest weaknesses in their enemies.

Signature Rifle

Starting at 3rd level, you can craft a custom firearm, known as the Deadeye’s Signature Rifle, using your expertise in both survival and craftsmanship. This rifle is unique to you, and no other creature can wield it effectively. You may treat this weapon as a Musket for the purposes of Weapon Mastery. Crafting the rifle requires 8 hours of work and 100gp worth of materials. If the rifle is lost or destroyed, you can craft a new one during a long rest by spending the same materials. You can only have one Deadeye’s Signature Rifle at a time.

The Deadeye’s Signature Rifle has the following properties:

  • Two-handed: This firearm requires both hands to operate.
  • Ammunition: You must load ammunition to fire the Deadeye’s Signature Rifle. You can craft specialized ammunition during a long rest.
  • Range: The rifle has a normal range of 60 feet and a long range of 240 feet.
  • Reload: After firing a number of shots equal to your Dexterity modifier (minimum of 1), you must use a bonus action to reload.
  • Damage: The Deadeye’s Signature Rifle deals 1d10 piercing damage.

Additionally, the rifle gains the following bonuses as you gain levels in this class:

  • +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls with this magic weapon at 7th level.
  • +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls with this magic weapon at 11th level.
  • +3 bonus to attack and damage rollswith this magic weapon at 15th level.

Deadeye Focus

Starting at 3rd level, your Deadeye’s Rifle is most effective at long distances. You gain proficiency with firearms. Additionally, if you miss a ranged weapon attack, you can reroll the attack once. You can use this reroll a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses after a long rest.

Furthermore, while attacking with your Deadeye’s Rifle, you may expend a single spell slot when you hit with an attack. The attack deals an additional 2d4 damage per level of the spell slot expended.

Sharpshooter’s Edge

Starting at 7th level, your mastery of the Deadeye’s Rifle allows you to make incredible shots under pressure. When attacking a creature within the rifle’s long range, you can add your Wisdom modifier to the damage roll.

Additionally, when a creature within your long range moves, you can use your reaction to make a ranged weapon attack with your Deadeye’s Rifle against it.

Quantum Tunnel Vision

Starting at 11th level, your bond with your Deadeye’s Rifle grants you supernatural perception when looking through its scope. While aiming through the scope of your Deadeye’s Rifle, you gain Truesight out to the weapon’s long range (240 feet). You can perceive creatures and objects behind up to 10 feet of solid material, and you can see into the Ethereal Plane while using the scope.

Before making a ranged attack with your Deadeye’s Rifle, you can choose to delay your shot, focusing all of your attention on a single target. If you do so, you may only make one attack on your turn, and this attack ignores all cover, including full cover, and you gain advantage on the attack roll. Your bullet can pierce through up to 3 feet of material when firing through full cover. For every foot beyond this limit, the total damage dealt is reduced by 1d8.

However, focusing so intently leaves you vulnerable, and until the end of your next turn, attack rolls made against you have advantage.

Unerring Sight

Your precision has reached its peak. When you make a firearm attack, you can treat a roll of 5 or lower on the attack roll as a 6.

Additionally, when you score a critical hit with your Deadeye's Rifle, the target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your Ranger DC. On a failed save, the target is stunned until the start of your next turn, overwhelmed by the sheer precision of your strike. On a successful save, the target is not stunned but still takes the critical damage.
