Base Class: Barbarian
Sometimes weapons arent what we are looking for. Sometimes, a sword to the gut just doesnt get the message across that youre looking for. Occasionally, one needs to FEEL the kill, one needs to watch an opponent drop from nothing more than your bare hands and this rock i found.
Whoops Forgot my Sword
Forget weapon evolution, return to basic tools
At 3rd level, you gain proficiency with Improvised weapons. Additionally, you can roll 1d6 in place of the normal damage of your Unarmed Strike or Improvised weapons. This die changes as you gain Barbarian levels, going to 1d8 at 6th level, 1d10 at 10th level, and 1d12 at 14th level. As a bonus action while raging, you may make an Unarmed Strike against a creature hit by an Improvised weapon attack. On a hit, you may choose to enact one of the following effects on that creature. If the effect calls for a saving throw, the DC is equal to 8 + your Strength modifier + proficiency bonus.
- The creature takes additional damage at the start of each of its turns equal to your proficiency bonus + your rage modifier. A creature will continue taking this damage until it heals at least 5 hit points at one time. This effect does not stack.
- The creature must make a Strength save, getting knocked prone on a failure, or getting pushed 10 feet away from you on a success.
- The creature must make a Dexterity save, becoming blinded until the end of your next turn on a failure, gaining disadvantage on its next attack roll on a success.
Item Quality Check
Attacks you make with Improvised weapons and your Unarmed Strikes are considered magical for the purposes of overcoming resistances.
Additionally you may choose to sacrifice an Improvised weapon to do extra damage to your opponent. As an action, make an attack roll against a creature. On a hit, you do bludgeoning damage equal to 3 rolls of your Improvised weapon damage dice + your Strength modifier, and the creature must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC equal to 8 + Strength modifier + Proficiency). On a failed save, the creature becomes Dazed until the end of your next turn. If you hit a creature with an attack this way, the weapon you used shatters in your hands, becoming useless.
You may use this feature as many times as your proficiency bonus per day, regaining uses on a long rest.
Hey! Look Over Here!
Once per turn, when you hit a creature with an Unarmed Strike or Improvised weapon attack, you may taunt that enemy into retaliation. That creature must make a contested Insight check against your Intimidation. If they fail the check, they must spend their next turn attacking you. If they pass the check and choose not to attack you, you gain advantage on attacks made against that creature until the end of your next turn.
Champion Brawler
When you activate your rage, you may choose to expend an extra use of your rage to enhance your body to its limit. If you choose to expend an extra use of rage, you cast the Haste spell targeting yourself, and may concentrate on it as long as you maintain your rage. You may use the extra action provided by Haste to use your Item Quality Check feature. If your concentration is broken while you are maintaining rage, your rage ends instead of you falling to lethargy.
Additionally, when you use your Hey! Look Over Here! feature and the creature you hit fails its skill check, you gain temporary hit points equal to your level in this class.
