Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

Masters of Shadows and the Fading Veil

A rogue who walks the line between the material world and the shadowy realm beyond the weakening Veil. You channel the latent power of darkness to strike from unseen places, move with supernatural grace, and confound your enemies. Your connection to the shadowfell gives you abilities that are both deadly and enigmatic.

Shadowstep

3rd-level Shadowborne feature

The darkness becomes your ally, allowing you to move through it with supernatural ease.

When you are in dim light or darkness, you can use a Bonus Action to teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see within line of sight. This sudden movement cloaks your actions, granting you advantage on your next weapon attack made before the end of your turn.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Veil of Night

3rd-level Shadowborne feature

You can shroud yourself in an ephemeral darkness, becoming a ghostly figure in the shadows.

As an Action, you can expend a hit die to cloak yourself in shadowy energy drawn from the Veil. Roll a hit die and add one to the roll; the result determines the number of rounds (in turns) you remain cloaked. While cloaked, you are Invisible to creatures that rely on sight, and you gain advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks.

However, the Veil is delicate. If you deal damage to a creature while cloaked, the effect immediately ends, and you become visible again.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Ebon Strike

9th-level Shadowborne feature

You channel shadow magic into a precision strike, crippling your enemy's mobility and defenses.

When you hit a creature with a Sneak Attack, you can forgo the full Sneak Attack damage to deliver an Ebon Strike. The attack instead deals half your Sneak Attack damage (rounded down), and the target’s movement speed is reduced to 0 until the start of your next turn. Additionally, the target has disadvantage on Dexterity saving throws during this time.

This feature can be used a number of times per long rest equal to your proficiency bonus.

Shadowblessed

13th-level Shadowborne feature

The shadows embrace you, heightening your senses and shielding you from harm.

  • You gain the ability to see up to 60 feet in magical darkness. This includes areas obscured by spells such as Darkness.
  • When you are in dim light or darkness and take damage, you can use your Reaction to reduce the damage by an amount equal to your Dexterity modifier + your Rogue level.

You can use this damage reduction a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Shadow Clone

17th-level Shadowborne feature

The Veil answers your call, creating a perfect duplicate of yourself made of shadows.

As an Action, you summon a shadowy clone of yourself in an unoccupied space you can see within 60 feet. The clone is semi-corporeal and functions as an independent ally under your control. It has hit points equal to double (your Rogue level + your proficiency bonus), The clone also uses your ability scores and AC.

The clone acts immediately after your turn and can make one weapon attack per turn. When the clone succeeds on a weapon attack, it deals force damage equal to your Sneak Attack roll, regardless of whether you have used Sneak Attack that turn. This damage is not considered Sneak Attack and does not interact with Sneak Attack mechanics or limitations. The clone counts as an allied creature for flanking and targeting purposes but cannot be healed. The clone remains for 1 minute, until it drops to 0 hit points, or until you dismiss it (no action required). Once you use this feature, you must finish a long rest before you can use it again.
