Base Class: Paladin
A Southern Italian code of silence and code of honor and conduct that places importance on silence in the face of questioning by authorities or outsiders; non-cooperation with authorities, the government, or outsiders, especially during criminal investigations; and willfully ignoring and generally avoiding interference with the illegal activities of others (i.e., not contacting law enforcement or the authorities when one is aware of, witness to, or even the victim of certain crimes). It originated and remains common in Southern Italy, where banditry or brigandage and Mafia-type criminal organizations (like the Camorra, Cosa Nostra, 'Ndrangheta, Sacra Corona Unita and Società foggiana) have long been strong. Similar codes are also deeply rooted in other areas of the Mediterranean, including Malta, Crete in Greece, and Corsica, all of which share a common or similar historic culture with Southern Italy.
Ostracism, shunning, intimidation, societal pressure or peer pressure, and strong cultural norms are often used to reinforce omertà and encourage silence and non-cooperation with authorities; however, violence and retaliation against informers or those who break the code of omertà is also common in criminal circles, where informers or traitors to the code of omertà are often described in English by terms such as "rats" or "snitches" and in Italian as infami or pentiti, depending on the context.
Channel Divinity - Silence is Golden
As an action you exert a silencing pressure on all chosen creatures within 15ft of you. For the duration of 1 minute, no sound can be created by the chosen creatures as long as they remain within 15ft of you. You can choose if any creature entering the area while you exert your pressure is afflicted by it or not.
Channel Divinity - Speech is Silver
As a bonus action you tap into your abilities to skillfully manipulate people. Your thoughts tightly leashed as your words subtly influence those who listen to them. For one minute you gain advantage on charisma checks and saving throws.
Ignorance is Strength
Your devotion to keeping sensitive information out of unwanted hands makes it impossible to gain information about or from you against your will through magical means
Vow of Silence
As an action you are able to skillfully manipulate the truth and make a creature you see forget you, information about you or any actions you did in the past. A creature may resist this effect by succeeding a Wisdom Saving Throw against your spell save DC.
War is Peace
Your mastery in withholding the truth plants a seed of doubt in everything that hears you.
As an action you are able to deceive reality itself and cause all attack rolls against you to automatically miss for 1 minute.
Oath of Omerta Spells
The magic of your oath ensures you always have certain spells ready; when you reach a Paladin level specified in the Oath of Omerta Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.
