Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Paladins who take up the Oath of Steel are bound to the blazing forge, where the weapons and armor of legendary heroes are created. These paladins, who are also known as blacksmith knights, forge knights or flameblades, are mighty heroes of fire and forge. Many paladins who took this oath were commoners beforehand, typically blacksmiths or steelworkers who follow the ideals of passion and diligence.

Tenets of Steel

Diligence. Hard work pays off. A task worth doing is worth doing well, and deserves your attention and dedication.

Passion. A passion for the things we love and cherish motivates us to improve ourselves and others, achieve greatness and leave our mark on the world. Never lose your burning passion.

Reliability. The forge you are bound to helps you create valuable and reliable tools. Just like the tools you create, strive to be a reliable and helpful person to your allies.

Artisan's Blessing

During a long rest, you can conduct a ritual to your deity that grants you the ability to craft a finished item that is at least part metal. The ritual takes 1 hour and the item is completed at the end of it. The object can be worth no more than 100 gp, and as part of this ritual you must expend metals, such as coins or other finished items, with a value equal to the item you want to make. The item can be an exact duplicate of a non-magical item, such as a copy of a key, if you possess the original during your long rest.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Forged Fury. As a bonus action, you can imbue one weapon that you are holding with the divine flames of your god, using your Channel Divinity. For 1 minute, the weapon deals an extra 1d6 fire damage. The weapon also emits bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light 10 feet beyond that. The extra fire damage is increased to 2d6 at 7th level and 3d6 at 14th level.

You can end this effect on your turn as part of any other action. If you are no longer holding or carrying this weapon, or if you fall unconscious, this effect ends.

Enhanced Protection. As an action, you improve the quality of your and your allies' armor, using your Channel Divinity. For 1 minute, you and one ally that you can touch both gain a +2 bonus to your AC. The ally you choose must be wearing a piece of armor.
