Base Class: Barbarian
Tearra maintains the necessity of revering her ancestors. She was taught that the Genasi warriors of the past linger in the world as mighty spirits, who can guide and protect the living. When Tearra rages, she contacts the spirit world and calls on these guardian spirits for aid.
Drawing on her ancestral guardians, Tearra can better fight to get revenge for her people. In order to cement ties to her ancestral guardians, Tearra's stone Earth Genasi skin is covered in elaborate carvings that celebrate her ancestors’ deeds. These carvings tell sagas of victories against terrible monsters and other fearsome rivals.
Ancestral Protectors
Starting at 3rd level, spectral Earth Genasi warriors appear when Tearra enters her rage. While she's raging, the first creature she hits with an attack becomes the target of the warriors. Until the start of Tearra's next turn, that target has disadvantage on any attack roll that isn’t against her, and when the target hits a creature other than you with an attack, that creature has resistance to the damage dealt by the attack. The effect on the target ends early if Tearra's rage ends.
Spirit Shield
Beginning at 6th level, the Earth Genasi guardian spirits that aid Tearra can provide supernatural protection to those she defends. If Tearra is raging and another creature she can see within 30 feet of her takes damage, she can use her reaction to reduce that damage by 2d6.
When she reaches certain levels in this class, she can reduce the damage by more: by 3d6 at 10th level and by 4d6 at 14th level.
Consult the Spirits
At 10th level, Tearra gains the ability to consult with her Earth Genasi ancestral spirits. When she does so, she casts the augury or clairvoyance spell, without using a spell slot or material components. Rather than creating a spherical sensor, this use of clairvoyance invisibly summons one of her ancestral spirits to the chosen location. Wisdom is her spellcasting ability for these spells.
After Tearra casts either spell in this way, she can’t use this feature again until she finishes a short or long rest.
Vengeful Ancestors
At 14th level, Tearra's Earth Genasi ancestral spirits grow powerful enough to retaliate. When she uses her Spirit Shield to reduce the damage of an attack, the attacker takes an amount of force damage equal to the damage that her Spirit Shield prevents.
