Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Paladins who swear the Oath of Monster Hunting are deeply committed to protecting people from the horrors that lurk in the shadows. They see it as their sacred duty to eradicate creatures that threaten the balance of nature and civilization. Whether born out of personal vengeance or a righteous calling, these paladins view the destruction of monsters as both a divine mission and a personal crusade. They are skilled trackers, expert warriors, and tacticians, with a deep understanding of the beasts they hunt.

These paladins share the following tenets:

  • Monsters lurk in the dark corners of the world, and it is the paladin's duty to seek them out, no matter how far or dangerous the path.
  • It is the paladin’s sacred duty to defend the innocent from the horrors of the world, especially those who cannot defend themselves.
  • A true hunter never stops chasing their quarry. Once a monster is marked, it is the paladin's duty to ensure its end, no matter the cost.

Level 3: Mark of the Hunter

As an action, you can expend one use of your Channel Divinity to mark a creature within 60 feet of you that you can see. The creature is marked for 1 minute. While marked, you deal extra radiant damage equal to your Charisma modifier, to the creature with your weapon attacks. Additionally, if the marked creature tries to flee, you can use your reaction to force it to make a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your Charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus). On a failed save, the creature is paralyzed for 1 round.

Level 7: Aura of Hunting

You and your allies have resistance to damage made by a creature marked by your Mark of the Hunter.

Level 15: Unrelenting Chase

Once per long rest, you can take the Dash action as a bonus action. If you Dash towards a creature you have marked, you can ignore difficult terrain for the duration of your movement. Additionally, you have advantage on any ability check made to track the marked creature or a creature previously marked that day.
