Doombringer

The Doombringer fighter subclass taps into dark magic and a fearsome presence, combining martial prowess with spellcasting and an aura of dread. As a Doombringer, you unleash necrotic power upon your enemies, utilizing your strength to fuel sinister spells and inflict terror. Your abilities focus on enhancing attacks with necrotic energy, manipulating the battlefield with fear effects, and transforming into a terrifying force of destruction.

Doombringers are a very rare kind of fighters, there are around 5 doombringers alive per generation. It is said Doombringer fighters appear either by certain bloodline traits or either by reincarnation. Regardless of what the folk says these kind of fighters are fierce and bring chaos to the battlefield.

Spellcasting

When you reach 3rd level, you augment your martial prowess with the ability to cast spells.

Cantrips

You learn two cantrips of your choice from the warlock spell list. You learn an additional warlock cantrip at 10th level.

Spell Slots

The Doombringer Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your spells of 1st through 4th level.

Spells Known of 1st-Level and Higher

You know three 1st-level spells of your choice from the warlock spell list. The Spells Known column of the Doombringer Spellcasting table shows when you learn more spells of 1st through 4th level.

Whenever you gain a level, you can replace one of the warlock spells you know with another spell from the warlock spell list.

Spell Slots

Strength is your spellcasting ability for your Doombringer spells.

• Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier
• Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier

Ominous Presence

You exude an aura of foreboding, causing unease in your foes. Enemies within 10 feet have disadvantage on saving throws against being frightened. Additionally, you gain proficiency in the Intimidation skill.

Harbinger's Strike

Once per turn, when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can add extra necrotic damage equal to your fighter level. If the target is frightened, the damage is doubled.

Mark of Ruin

As a bonus action, you can mark a target as your prey. Your attacks against this creature have advantage, and they have disadvantage on saving throws against your frightening effects. The mark lasts for 1 minute or until the creature is reduced to 0 hit points.

Reaper's Resilience

You gain resistance to necrotic damage. Additionally, when you defeat a frightened enemy, you regain hit points equal to your Constitution modifier plus your Fighter level. The aura imposes a Wisdom saving throw on enemies within 10 feet. On a failed save, they become frightened until the end of their next turn.

Doombringer's Onslaught

Once per long rest, you can enter a state of frenzied doom. For 1 minute, your form transforms, gaining the following benefits:

• Ruin Slashes Your slashing attacks deal an additional 1d8 necrotic damage equal to your Fighter level. Your melee attacks have a reach of 10 ft.
• Wings of Dread Dark, shadowy wings sprout from your back, granting you a flying speed of 60 feet. You gain advantage on Intimidation checks while the wings are visible.
• Cataclysmic Presence Enemies that start their turn within 20 feet of you must make a Wisdom saving throw or become frightened. Additionally, the area within 10 feet of you is considered difficult terrain for your enemies.
