Base Class: Rogue
Weightless and formless as light itself, you weave that very light into your footwork and weapons. The Lightdancer generates and manipulates light to manifest radiance in their strikes and strides. A lightdancer rogue is swift, bright, graceful and deadly. Movements can set enemies alight in radiant damage, exploding fractals of light can make your strikes precise or distract incoming attacks, and the lightdancer can close the curtain with a final grand performance of light and swift death.
Light the Stage
Starting at 3rd level, You learn the Dancing Lights cantrip, and gain proficiency in Charisma (Performance) checks. Additionally, whenever you are in dim or bright light, your walk speed is increased by 10ft.
Fractal Flourishes
Starting at 3rd level, you gain a number of charges called Fractals equal to 1 plus Charisma modifier that reset on a short or long rest. You can expend these charges whenever you make an attack roll, or whenever a creature makes an attack roll against you.
Whenever you make an attack roll, you can expend one charge to guide the strike towards its target with a streak of luminescence. You gain advantage on the attack roll, and your weapon attack scores a critical hit on a 19 or 20.
Whenever a creature that you can see makes an attack roll against you, you can attempt to disorient your attacker by obscuring yourself in bright light. As a reaction, you can expend a Fractal charge to cause the attack roll to be made at disadvantage. If the attack misses, you can move 10 feet without provoking opportunity attacks.
Illuminating Strides
Beginning at 9th level, your footwork can set creatures ablaze in radiance. Whenever you Dash or Disengage, you can expend a Fractal Charge and can move through hostile creatures spaces. Whenever you move through a creatures space this way, they must make a Dexterity Saving throw and take radiant damage equal to your sneak attack bonus on a failed save or half as much on a success.
Brilliant Encore
Starting at 13th level, the show is never quite over. Whenever you roll initiative and have 1 or less fractal charges remaining, you gain 2 fractal charges. Additionally, whenever you expend a charge to give an attacker disadvantage on their attack roll against you and you are still hit, you regain the expended charge.
Curtain Call
At 17th level your lightdance performance comes to a close, but not before the curtain calls.
As a bonus action you can expend 2 fractal charges to enter a state of illuminating brilliance, to move across the battlefield in a grand performance for 1 minute. During this performance you gain the following benefits:
- You shed an aura of bright light in a 10ft radius, and dim light for an additional 10ft.
- Your walk speed bonus from Light the Stage feature is increased by 20ft, instead of 10ft.
- Creatures cannot benefit from being unseen or invisible while inside your aura.
- Whenever you take the attack action, you can make an additional attack as part of the same action.
- Your weapon attacks deal additional radiant damage equal to your charisma modifier.
