Of The Abyss

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you gain a swimming speed equal to your walking speed and gain the ability to breathe underwater.

You gain resistance to cold damage

You also learn Aquan as a language

Release The Kraken

At 6th level, when you enter a rage, you manifest a number of tentacles equal to your proficiency modifier. These appendages allow you to simultaneously grapple creatures equal to the number of tentacles you manifested within your riptide

Creatures grappled by Unleash the Kraken take 1d8 force damage at the beginning of their turn. This increases to 2d8 at level 11, and 3d8 at level 17

You do not require a free hand to grapple creatures in this way

This grapple can be broken as normal or when the creature is more than 10ft away from you

Call Riptide

At 3rd level, when you enter your rage, a swirling riptide appears centered on you and extends in a 10ft radius. It moves with you as you move.

This counts as difficult terrain for enemy creatures within its area.

While it is active you may use a bonus action cause a surge to force a creature within its area to make a strength saving throw (DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier). On a failed save the creature falls prone, is pushed 10ft away, or pulled 10 ft forward (Your choice).

Aspects of the Depths

At 10th level, you can manifest additional adaptations of the deep. Select one of the below adaptations you manifest, during a long rest you may replace your chosen manifestation with a new option from this list:

Aspect of the Kraken: You gain an additional 5 feet of reach and may add your rage bonus to you To Hit on attacks against creatures grappled by your tentacles

Aspect of the Crab: Your AC is increased by 2 and creatures grappled by your tentacles take an extra damage die at their turn

Aspect of the Dragonfish: Creatures entering your riptide provoke opportunity attacks from you

Aspect of the Jellyfish: Your tentacles are replaced by jellyfish stingers. You may replace one of your attacks to activate the stingers to do 2d6 poison damage to each creature grappled by Release the Kraken

Soul of the Sea

Beginning at 14th level, once per long rest, you may channel the power of the deep sea to summon a maelstrom while raging. This can be done as part of the rage bonus action or as a bonus action on a later turn. This acts as an enhanced version of your riptide and allows you to perform the same actions within in it as well.

The summoned maelstrom extends to a 15ft radius (allowing your tentacles to be effective at the same range) and prevents ranged weapon attacks from entering or leaving its radius

Any type of fire damaged is quenched as it passes though the maelstrom's barrier, reducing fire damage dealt by half

Any hostile creature that attempts to leave or enter its radius willingly must succeed on a strength saving throw or be thrown 5ft back from the direction they approached
