Path of the Devoted

Barbarian of love.

Reckless Love

When you choose this subclass at 3rd level, you swear to blaze a trail of benevolence. You can no longer kill other creatures willingly. Whenever you would normally reduce a creature to 0 hit points, it is instead reduced to 1 hit point and stabilized, though it will still be knocked Unconscious. You also lose access to your reckless attack feature, and can no longer add your rage damage bonus to attacks while raging. In exchange for the loss of these things, you gain access to reckless love. At the start of your turn you can declare that you will love recklessly. If you do, your next Strength check is automatically the highest possible roll for you until the start of your next turn. However, until the start of your next turn the next attack made against you is made with advantage. Whenever you use reckless love to successfully grapple a creature your size or smaller, that creature is considered Restrained until the grapple ends.

Passionate Protector

You gain proficiency in Insight(Wisdom) checks. You can now make Insight(Wisdom) checks as a bonus action on your turn. While raging, you can maintain your rage without attacking hostile creatures if you make an Insight(Wisdom) check against yourself. For this special check you're wrestling with your own savage nature, contesting yourself in the moment to see if you can satisfy your rage with focused love. As such, the DC for this check is your own Strength score.

Being at odds with your bloodthirsty urges and constantly striving for deliberate power over barbarous might, your diligent efforts afford you great strength. You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.

Cherished Bulwark

At 6th level, you've begun to master your wrath with training, affording you even greater power. You gain proficiency in heavy armor. You can still gain the benefits of your Rage and Fast Movement features while wearing heavy armor. You count as two sizes larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift. For the purposes of moving, dragging, or carrying creatures you're grappling, you count as two size categories larger than your current size category. Non-magical effects - be it a racial ability, other subclass abilities, etc. - beyond this feature can no longer be used to further increase your carrying capacity or the amount of weight you can push, drag, or lift once you've acquired this subclass feature.

Love Endures All

At 10th level, you sacrifice what remains of your bloodthirsty nature to make room in your heart for unyielding conviction. You lose access to your Brutal Critical feature. In exchange you gain a new feature named Hearty Resistance. Whenever a creature scores a critical hit on you with an attack, you can roll 2d12 and reduce the damage taken by the total rolled. This reduces the damage taken before the critical hit doubles the damage. Additionally, when a creature within 5 feet of you takes damage from an attack, you can use your reaction to take that attack instead.

The damage reduction of this feature increases to 3d12 at 13th level and 4d12 at 17th level.

Ceaseless Spirit

At 14th level, the hellbent love in your heart makes you significantly harder to kill. While raging, you add your rage damage bonus to all saving throws you're not already proficient with.
