Base Class: Cleric
Death. Life. War. Practically all clerics embrace one aspect of their deity to the fullest. But a handful find themselves drawn to two distinct aspects. These clerics do not delve as deeply into the powers of a single aspect as typical clerics, but instead gain flexibility that few others possess.
This is not a separate subclass per se, but merely a set of recommended rules for how to play a cleric that can switch between two domains. This set of rules is more powerful than Model 1.
Two Domains
When you create this cleric, choose two domains available to clerics of your deity. When you finish a long rest, choose one of those domains. Until you finish another long rest, you have the features of that domain.
You do not gain the additional spells of both domains. Instead, you select one spell from each domain. For example, Jozan is a 1st level cleric with the Death and Life Domains. He decides to pick Bless and Ray of Sickness as his 1st level bonus spells. Once made, the choice of bonus spells cannot be changed.
Flexible Domain Features
Starting at 2nd level, when you finish a long rest, you can choose to have features from both domains. For example, Jozan is a 2nd level cleric with the Death and Life domains. Today, he decides to have the Disciple of Life feature from the Life domain and the Touch of Death channel divinity from the Death domain. Tomorrow, he can have the Reaper feature from the Death domain and the Preserve Life channel divinity from the Life domain.
No Additional Channel Divinity
At 6th level, you gain your domain feature as normal. However, you do not gain an additional use of Channel Divinity.
Domain Ability
You gain your 8th level domain feature as normal.
Second Use of Channel Divinity
At 17th level, you can use the Channel Divinity feature twice between rests. However, you cannot use the feature given by a single domain more than once between rests. For example, Jozan the 17th level cleric has the Death and Life domains. Between rests, he can use Channel Divinity: Turn Undead twice, use Turn Undead once and his Death/Life domain Channel Divinity once, or use his Death domain Channel Divinity once and his Life domain Channel Divinity once.
