Level 3: Fabricator’s Workshop

You gain proficiency in the Smith's Tools kit. You can use your action to create a simple magical trinket. This trinket can have a single, minor magical effect, such as:

  • Minor Illusion: Create a single, non-moving object.
  • Prestidigitation: Perform a single minor trick.
  • Resistance: Grant a creature resistance to one damage type for 1 minute.
  • Unseen Servant: Summon an unseen servant for 1 hour.
  • Mage Hand: Summon a magical hand that you can control.

Level 3: Fabricator Spells

Starting at 3rd level, you choose another class’ spell list. Choose 2 spells at first level on that list. You always have them prepared. At 5th level, choose 2 spells at 2nd level from that list. At 9th level, choose 2 spells at 3rd level from that list. At 13th level, choose 2 spells at 4th level from that list. At 17th level, choose 2 spells at 5th level from that list.

Level 5: Ingenious Invention

Starting at 5th level, you may learn and use 3 more replications/infusions. At 9th level, 5 more. At 15th level, 7 more.

When you craft a magic item without infusions or replications, you may add a single bonus effect to it. The bonus effect must be appropriate to the item’s function and power level; at the DM’s discretion. Also, crafting magic items requires half the time and money it usually takes, and you can craft them even if you don’t have proficiency in the type of tool needed to craft it.

Level 9: Master Fabricator

At 9th level, you gain the ability to create truly unique magical items. When you craft a non-consumable magic item, you can create a new, unique magical effect for that item. This effect must be balanced and reasonable for the item's power level, at the DM’s discretion. This also makes it require Attunement but it always returns to the attuned user across any distance.

The time and money you spend crafting a magic item is halved again.

Level 9: Observant Crafter

Starting at 9th level, you can thoroughly research one existing magical item of the “rare” rarity. You may then be able to replicate it. At 13th level you begin to replicate “Very Rare” Magic items. Finally, at 17th level, you can replicate legendary magic items. Your capacity for replicating increases by your intelligence modifier. (Minimum of 3, and regardless of other increases.

Level 15: Grand Invention

At 15th level, you can infuse all of your knowledge and ability into one masterpiece. You essentially create a whole new magic item of “Artifact” caliber. It requires Attunement but automatically attunes to you or your descendants. This Attunement lets the item teleport to you across any distance if you call for it, without costing an action or bonus action. This magic item should be unique to you, and should be appropriately powerful as any other artifact. With this artifact, you gain an amount of minor beneficial properties equal to your intelligence modifier (minimum of 2) doubled. You also gain an amount of major beneficial properties equal to your intelligence modifier. (minimum of 2) the rest of the properties of you masterpieces item is made by you and your DM to make sure that the item is balanced enough but still powerful enough to be of “artifact” caliber.
