Base Class: Sorcerer
The Phoenix Sorcery subclass from Unearthed Arcana, modified to accommodate the Sorcerer of the 2024 Player's Handbook.
Level 3: Ashen Magic
Your mystical connection to fire allows you to utilize your magic in a way most sorcerers cannot. As a Magic action, you can ignite a flammable object that you touch—an object such as a torch, a piece of tinder, or the hem of drapes. The object you ignite cannot be worn or carried by another creature.
Furthermore, when you reach a Sorcerer level specified in the Ashen Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.

Level 3: Mantle of Flame
Whenever you use your Innate Sorcery feature, you may unleash the primordial heat blazing within you. For the duration, you are wreathed in swirling flames, and you gain the following benefits:
- You emit Bright Light in a 30-foot radius and Dim Light for an additional 30 feet.
- You have a bonus to Fire damage rolls of your Sorcerer spells equal to your Charisma modifier.
- Whenever a creature within 10 feet of you hits you with a melee attack, it takes Fire damage equal to your Charisma modifier.
Level 6: Phoenix Spark
You can harness the spark of fire dancing within you and take flight. You have Resistance to Fire damage, and while under the effect of your Innate Sorcery and Mantle of Flame features, you have a Fly Speed equal to your Walk Speed.
Additionally, your soul is primed for rebirth. When you Die, your corpse always disintegrates and takes the form of a pile of magical ash that retains your soul and gravitates towards a center mass; if you die of old age or illness, your soul will instead go to the Elemental Plane of Fire, where you will (eventually) be reborn as an Elemental. If a spell has the sole effect of restoring your life, but not undeath, and it is cast on your ashes while they possess your soul, the caster does not need Material components in order to cast the spell on you.
Level 14: Nourishing Fire
Your fire spells soothe and restore you. When you cast a Level 1+ Sorcerer Spell that deals Fire damage, you regain a number of Hit Points equal to your Charisma modifier plus half of the spell slot's level (minimum 1).
Level 18: Form of the Phoenix
While you are Bloodied and have 1 or more Hit Points, you regain twice as many Hit Points from your Nourishing Fire feature. Additionally, while your Mantle of Flame feature is active, you have Immunity to Fire damage and Resistance to all other damage types, and Fire damage dealt by your spells bypass Resistances and Immunities to Fire damage (including your own).
