Monk
Base Class: Monk

Young elves (no more than 20 years old usually) are selected by masters or just as often volunteer to take to the path of the blade. They serve as acolytes for a minimum of 20 years, apprentices for 10 to 20, and then when they have passed their tests they become Initiates of the Blade.

Blade Dancing

Starting at 3rd level, you use a longsword as a monk weapon so long as you have nothing in your off hand and wear no armor or shield. It counts as a finesse weapon when you wield it. You may use this blade for Flurry of Blows but gain only 1 extra attack rather than the usual 2. You may use the blade to deflect missiles but you may not reflect them back as unarmed monks can.

Whirling Parry

Starting at 6th level, you may, as a reaction, spend 1 ki point when you are hit with a melee attack. When you do this you reduce the damage by 1d10+Dex+Monk level.

Storm of Blades

Starting at 11th level, when you use Flurry of Blows you may now use the full 2 strikes instead of just 1. You may use the longsword's versatile feature and do d10 damage instead of d8. At 17th level this increases to d12.

Light Footed

Starting at 17th level, you are a master of movement. Speed and grace are your specialty. You gain expertise in both the acrobatics and stealth skills. Additionally you may reroll a single d20 roll with either skill 1/long rest.
