Monk
Base Class: Monk

The Way of Shaolin monks embody discipline, self-mastery, and relentless training.

Shaolin Discipline

3rd-Level Way of Shaolin Feature

Your training in Shaolin techniques grants you mastery over specialized combat techniques. You gain proficiency in the Athletics skill and one additional skill of your choice from Acrobatics, History, or Religion.

Additionally, you learn one Fighting Style from the following list: Unarmed Fighting, Defense, or Blind Fighting. Your unarmed strikes count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.

Iron Body, Flowing Mind

6th-Level Way of Shaolin Feature

Your discipline has hardened your body and mind. You gain the following benefits:

  • When you take damage from an attack, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage by an amount equal to your Martial Arts die + your Wisdom modifier.

  • When you fail a Wisdom saving throw, you can reroll the saving throw, taking the second result. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Thousand Strikes Technique

11th-Level Way of Shaolin Feature

Your mastery of rapid strikes allows you to overwhelm your foes. When you take the Attack action and hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can use a bonus action to make two additional unarmed strikes instead of one.

Additionally, once per turn when you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can force the target to make a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier) or be pushed 10 feet away from you.

Perfected Shaolin Form

17th-Level Way of the Shaolin Feature

You have achieved true mastery of Shaolin martial arts, pushing your body and spirit beyond mortal limits. You gain the following benefits:

  • When you use your Flurry of Blows, you can make three attacks instead of two.

  • If you have no armor and are not wielding a shield, your AC increases by 2.

  • If you roll for initiative and have no Ki points remaining, you regain 4 Ki points.

  • As an action, you can enter a state of pure focus for 1 minute. During this time, you have resistance to all damage, your movement speed increases by 20 feet, and when you hit with an unarmed strike, you can deal additional force damage equal to your Martial Arts die. You can use this ability once per long rest.
