Base Class: Sorcerer
Long ago, a powerful Lich sought to preserve their power for eternity. Perhaps they were your ancestor, or perhaps your ancestor owed them a debt. A sinister ritual bound their soul inextricably to your bloodline. Now, coalesced in you, the shade of the ancient Lich rests at the edge of your consciousness. The darkness surges in you, and the icy chill of death taints your very being. You've been granted tremendous magical powers, and the perpetual feeling that someone just walked over your grave...
Level 3: Necromantic Spells
When you reach a Sorcerer level specified in the Necromantic Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.
| Sorcerer Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 3 | Ray of Enfeeblement, Gentle Repose, Fear, False Life, Chill Touch |
| 5 | Animate Dead, Speak with Dead |
| 7 | Blight, Shadow of Moil |
| 9 | Danse Macabre, Negative Energy Flood |
Level 3: Curse of Undeath
You Heal only half from Spells, Items and Effects that grant health.
A number of times equal to your Constitution Modifier(minimum 1), you may choose to negate damage equal to your Sorcerer Level and instead convert that into Healing. This ability resets per Long Rest.
Level 6: Necromantic Sorcery
When you cast any level 1+ spell from your Necromantic Spells feature, you can cast it by expending a spell slot as normal, or by spending a number of Sorcery Points equal to the spell’s level. If you cast the spell using Sorcery Points, it requires no Verbal or Somatic components, and it requires no Material components unless they are consumed by the spell or have a cost specified in it.
Level 6: Deathless Death
You gain Damage Resistance to Necrotic Damage.
You have Advantage on Death Saving Throws.
Level 14: Embodiment of Undeath
You can unleash the Necrotic truth hidden within yourself. As a Bonus Action, you can spend 1 Sorcery Point or more to embody Undeath for 10 minutes. For each Sorcery Point you spend, you gain one of the following benefits of your choice, the effects of which last until the alteration ends.
Breathless. Your respiration stops. You gain immunity to any effects dependent on breathing, and do not require air to live and move. This also means you do not require air Underwater. Any attempt to speak comes out as a hoarse and strangled whisper.
Mortal Rictus. Your face is frozen in a deathly leer. You gain advantage on Deception and Intimidation checks. Your appearance is upsetting to behold, the skin appearing rotten and sloughing from your face.
Grave Sight. Your eyes adapt to see in total darkness. You can see any light level for up to 120 feet of yourself, excluding magical darkness. You can see any Invisible creature within 60 feet of yourself that isn’t behind Total Cover. Your unblinking eyes turn milky white and glow faintly.
Tough as Coffin Nails. Your undead body is inured to harsh conditions. You gain resistance to Acid and Cold Damage. Your joints are stiffened with rigor mortis and your movements jerky and clumsy to beholders (the mechanics of your movement are not technically affected).
Level 18: Unhallowed Ground
As a Magic action, you create an area of Necrotic energy in a circle with a 30 foot radius, centered on where you stand when the action is taken. For the next 10 minutes, any creatures attempting to enter or leave the circle must make Strength Saving Throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, a creature is unable to move into the circle from outside, or out of the circle from inside.
At the beginning of their turn, creatures inside the circle must make a Wisdom Saving Throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, that creature gains the condition Frightened until the beginning of it's next turn.
At the end of their turn, creatures inside the circle must make a Constitution Saving Throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, that creature takes 3d6 points of Necrotic Damage, and half on a successful save.
Any creature that dies within this circle is brought back as a Zombie at the beginning of your next turn, and is able to act as per the rules of Animate Dead.
Once you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a Long Rest unless you spend 5 Sorcery Points to restore your use of it (no action required).
