Base Class: Wizard
You are an academy graduate with a tendency to think of yourself as a class above the rest. Your ties to your school are strong, but your ties to the weave are stronger.
Academic Focus
At 2nd level, choose your focus school from one of the eight schools of magic below. You gain an additional spell slot of each spell level that can be used only to cast spells of your chosen school. Increase the DC of spells you cast from your chosen school by 2.
Abjuration
Conjuration
Divination
Enchantment
Evocation
Illusion
Necromancy
Transmutation
Choose two schools from the list above that do not include your focus school, these are your opposition schools. Spells from these schools are considered to not be present on your class spell list. They cannot be added to your spellbook, and using scrolls of spells of those schools require you make an Arcana check (DC = 8 + double the spell level). Failure means the spell is not cast, but the scroll is not consumed.
Arcane Recall
At 6th level, once per short rest, you may as a bonus action recall one spell from your focus school and cast it with its appropriate action before the end of your next turn, even if you don't have it prepared or in your spellbook. This spell consumes an equivalent level spell slot.
Channel Power
At 10th level, once per short rest, when you cast a spell from your focus school, you can choose to channel raw arcane power into the spell and produce one of the following effects:
- Increase damage dice by 50%
- Enemies roll saves with disadvantage
- Spell bypasses any resistances and immunities
- Concentration spells do not require concentration for 1 minute
Master of the Arcane
At 14th level you gain an additional spell slot of each spell level that can be used only to cast spells of your chosen school. Anytime you cast a spell from your focus school, you automatically upcast it at 1 level higher without expending a higher level spell slot.
