Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Strive towards the unattainable

Paladins who swear the Oath of Perfection seek to refine themselves and the world around them into something greater. They understand that true perfection is unattainable, yet they tirelessly pursue it, serving as paragons of discipline, clarity, and idealism.

These paladins share the following tenets:

  • Seek to refine existence, guiding civilization and individuals toward a more perfect state.
  • True perfection is unreachable, but every step toward it is a triumph. Never cease improving.
  • Your presence must uplift and inspire others to improve themselves.

Level 3: Oath of Perfection Spells

3rd-level Oath of Perfection feature

The magic of your oath ensures you always have certain spells ready; when you reach a Paladin level specified in the Oath of Perfection Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.

Oath of Perfection Spells
Paladin Level Spells
3 Guiding Bolt, Heroism
5 Enhance Ability, Hold Person
9 Beacon of Hope, Haste
13 Freedom of Movement, Otiluke's Resilient Sphere
17 Greater Restoration, Wall of Force

Level 3: Perfect Clarity

3rd-level Oath of Perfection feature

As a bonus action, you can expend one of your use Channel Divinity to grant yourself supernatural focus for 1 minute. During this time, you gain advantage on Wisdom and Intelligence checks, and when you miss a attack roll, you can reroll the d20 once per turn. When you use this bonus action, all creatures of your choice within 30 feet of you lose the Charmed, Frightened, Poisoned, and Stunned conditions.

Level 7: Aura of the Ascendant

7th-level Oath of Perfection feature

If you or your allies roll a number that is less than your Charisma modifier on an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw while in your Aura of Protection, treat the roll as a number equal to your Charisma modifier. A creature can benefit from this once per turn.

Level 15: Unerring Smite

15th-level Oath of Perfection feature

Your magical smite now pushes your allies toward perfection. Whenever you cast Divine Smite, or any other Smite spell, your Aura of the Ascendant now uses double your Charisma modifier, instead of just your Charisma modifier, for determining which rolls are affected by it. The aura has this benefit until the start of your next turn.

Level 20: Divine Perfection

20th-level Oath of Perfection feature

As a Bonus Action, you can imbue your Aura of Protection with holy power, granting the benefits below for 10 minutes or until you end them (no action required). Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a Long Rest. You can also restore your use of it by expending a level 5 spell slot (no action required).

Legendary Perfection (2 uses). If you or an an ally in your Aura of Protection fails a saving throw, you can choose to have them succeed instead.

Perfect Strikes. Once per turn, if you miss an attack, you can choose to hit instead.

Untarnished Perfection. You and allies in your Aura of Protection cannot gain any conditions unless you consent to them.
