Monk
Base Class: Monk

In the monasteries high up on the mountain ridges the monks of Tomoe practice the art of assimilating lightning and thunder into their combat arts. As their first Monk, Tomoe the Celestial taught the primitives of the world below how to harness the might of a thunderstorm. This heretical martial art is sought after by many warriors, though only few can master it truly.

Due to the differences between mortals and celestials, this martial art requires extensive training and most apprentices die in their training sessions as their bodies succumb to the mighty electricity charging down from high up in the skies. The few that survive can only harness a sliver of this gift. Pure, elemental power surges through their bodies, without the filter of the arcane weave or the helping hand of a god behind the veil, elevating the monks' martial prowess to a heretical art which siphons this destructive power directly from the elemental plane of storms.

Flurry of many Arrows

When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your special martial arts training leads you to master the use of a Bow. This path also teaches you the movement of a flowing river and the twitching sprints of lighting across the battlefield. You gain the following benefits.

Flurry of many Arrows - You gain proficiency with Short Bows if you do not already have it. You can use a Bonus Action after using unarmed Strikes as an Action to attack with your Bow once. If you spend 1 Ki Point you can attack twice as Bonus Action.

Flowing River - It doesn't cost you an action to pull out and stow away your Short Bow and you do not have disadvantage on attacking with your Bow while being engaged.

Rush of Lightning - Every time you hit with your Bow you can teleport 5 feet. This does not provoke attacks of opportunity.

Thunderous Impact

At 6th level, you extend your Ki into your Bows, granting you the following benefits.

Ki Charged Arrow. Your attacks with your Bow count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage. Additionally, you gain proficiency with Long Bows if you do not already have it.

Piercing the Nerves. You can use Stunning Strike if you hit with your bow.

Overwhelming Ki. If you hit with your Bow, you can spend 2 Ki Points. If you do so, your target has to make a Strength Saving Throw against your DC. If it fails, it is knocked prone.

Lightning of Tomoe

You have deepened your knowledge in the Way of Tomoe. Lightning scars cover your arms and chest and strands of electricity subtlety dance between your fingers.

As an action you can spend 4 Ki Points to cause a 30ft. long cone to erupt in front of you. Every creature hit by the lightning has to make a Constitution Saving Throw or is stunned until the start of your next turn. Additionally they suffer 4d8 lightning damage. If they succeed the lightning damage is halved and they are not stunned.

Additionally, when using Rush of Lightning and ending your teleport within 5 feet of an enemy creature, that creature suffers lightning damage equal to half your Monk Level. You can spend 1 Ki Point to increase this damage to equal to your Monk Level every time you teleport. (spend 1 Ki Point per teleport)

Lightning Cascade

Everytime you hit with an unarmed Strike you can spend 1 ki point to deal additional lightning damage equal to your martial arts die.
