Oath of the Stormborn Hero

The Oath of the Stormborn Hero is sworn by those born with the blood of a god flowing through their veins. These paladins are champions of their divine parent, wielding the powers of the heavens to protect mortals and strike down evildoers. As the child of a thunderous deity, your destiny is written in the storm, and your actions shape the fate of the world.

 

Tenets of the Stormborn Hero

• Honor Thy Father (or Parent): Uphold the will of your divine parent, using the gifts they have bestowed upon you to serve justice and righteousness.
• Strike Like Lightning: Act decisively and swiftly to vanquish evil. Delay is the ally of chaos.
• Shield the Innocent: Mortals are fragile, but their potential is infinite. Use your strength to protect their spark of life and hope.
• Bear the Storm’s Burden: As the child of a god, you must bear the weight of your divine duty, even when it is heavy. Lead with strength and resolve.
• Temper Power with Mercy: Though storms rage, they also bring life. Show compassion to those who seek redemption, and strike down those who refuse it.

Level 3: Channel Divinity

At 3rd level, you gain the following Channel Divinity options:

• Zeus’s Wrath: As an action, you call upon the storms of your divine parent. Each creature of your choice within 30 feet must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, the creature takes thunder damage equal to 2d8 + your Charisma modifier and is pushed 10 feet away. On a success, the creature takes half damage and is not pushed.

• Blessing of the Sky Father: You imbue yourself or an ally with the swiftness of the storm. For 1 minute, the target’s movement speed increases by 10 feet, and they gain advantage on Dexterity saving throws. Additionally, once per turn, their melee weapon attacks deal an extra 1d6 lightning damage.

Level 7: Aura of the Storm

Starting at 7th level, you emanate an aura of tempestuous power. While you are conscious, creatures of your choice within 10 feet gain resistance to lightning and thunder damage and cannot be knocked prone.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Level 15: Skyborn Resilience

At 15th level, your divine heritage grants you unparalleled resilience and the ability to shield others with your celestial power.

• Storm’s Endurance: You gain resistance to lightning and thunder damage. Additionally, when you take damage from a spell or magical effect, you can use your reaction to halve the damage.
• Shield of the Sky: When a creature within 30 feet of you is hit by an attack or fails a saving throw, you can use your reaction to grant it the blessings of the storm. The creature gains temporary hit points equal to your paladin level and advantage on saving throws against spells and magical effects until the start of your next turn.

Level 20: Divine Champion of the Sky

At 20th level, you can unleash the full power of your divine heritage as an action. For 1 minute, you gain the following benefits:

• You can fly with a speed of 60 feet and hover.
• You gain immunity to lightning and thunder damage.
• Whenever you hit a creature with a melee attack, it takes an extra 3d10 lightning or radiant damage (your choice).
• As an action, you can call down a bolt of divine lightning. Choose a point within 120 feet. All creatures in a 10-foot radius of that point must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 6d10 lightning damage on a failed save or half as much on a success.

Once you use this feature, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest.
