Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

You have always preferred for you to crunch your enemies bones yourself. You have mastered the way of using your fists as natural forces of pure and utter destruction. The path of hand to hand combat requires some level of higher level thinking however, meaning you have learned a way of stance swapping. You can either stay on the defense and choose when to strike your enemy, or go all in and destroy them as a unstoppable object of pure carnage. Either by strategically outsmarting your opponent, or by crushing them under your boot, they all fall the same.

Level 3: Hand-to-Hand Combat Expert

You have dedicated your knowledge to mastering the art of using your fists. Whenever you choose this archetype at 3rd level, your unarmed attacks deal 1d6 + Strength Mod. bludgeoning damage. Furthermore, when you use your action to do an unarmed attack, you may make an additional unarmed attack with your bonus action.

Level 3: Stance Swapping

As a pugilist, you have had to learn how to not only beat your enemies down, but to block punches. When you choose this archetype at the 3rd level, your reckless attack is replaced with stance swapping. At the start of every one of your turns in combat, choose between going into a defensive stance or a aggressive stance. This is done first before doing any other action, bonus action, reaction, movement, etc. on your turn.

Defensive Stance: Increases your AC by your proficiency bonus.

Aggressive Stance: Advantage on all attacks, but enemies have advantage on all attacks against you.

For any ability that requires the enemy to roll a saving throw, it uses your Stance DC: 8 + Proficiency Bonus + Strength Modifier.

Level 6: Modified Rage

Starting at the 6th level, activating your rage while in either of your stances has potent effects.

Defensive Stance: Gain temporary HP equal to your Barbarian level x2.

Aggressive Stance: For the turn, if you use your attack action to make an unarmed attack, you may make one additional unarmed attack with your action.

Level 6: Dirty Tactics

Starting at the 6th level, you have learned how to cripple your opponents with cheap moves. Gain the ability Dirty Tactics, the ability does different effects based on what stance you are currently in (Ex. You cannot use the Aggressive Stance ability of Dirty Tactics while in the Defensive Stance). Dirty Tactics has an amount of charges equal to your Proficiency Bonus and recharges on long rest.

Dirty Tactics (Defensive Stance): As a reaction, if an enemy melee attack misses you, then you take the opportunity to try and disarm them. If they have no weapon to disarm, then you temporarily cripple their ability to attack, giving them disadvantage on their next melee attack roll. The enemy must roll a Strength Saving Throw against your Stance DC.

Dirty Tactics (Aggressive Stance): As a bonus action, perform an unarmed attack that vitalizes cheap moves to cripple an enemy. The enemy must roll a Constitution Saving Throw against your Stance DC to not be affected. If the enemy fails the saving throw, choose to either blind or deafen the enemy for the rest of their next turn.

Level 10: Bone Breaker

You have skilled the art of punching at the right place to shatter your opponents vitals. Starting at the 10th level, the number you need to roll a CRIT is reduced by 1. Furthermore, your unarmed attacks ignore non-magical resistance.

Additionally, when you make a critical hit with your unarmed attack, the enemy makes a Constitution Saving Throw against your Stance DC. If unsuccessful, the enemy is incapacitated for their next turn.

Level 14: Fists and Body

You have learned to not only punch with your strength but your whole body. Starting at the 14th level, when you make an unarmed attack, add your Constitution modifier to the damage.

Level 14: Pugilist's Perfection

You have mastered the art of the Pugilist, and as such have adapted the most deadly of their skills. Starting at the 14th level, gain the ability Pugilist's Perfection, the effect of this ability changes based on what Stance you are currently in. This ability recharges every short/long rest.

Pugilist's Perfection (Defensive): Using a bonus action, until your next turn you have resistance to all physical damage and magical damage. Furthermore, if you are attacked in melee range while this is active, you deal all damage you take from the attacker back to the attacker.

Pugilist's Perfection (Aggressive): Using an action, for every turn you have spent in the Aggressive stance this combat, perform 2 unarmed attacks against an enemy.
