Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks who follow the Way of the Infernal Dragon are not just warriors; they are living embodiments of dragonfire, embracing destruction as an art. Legends say these monks made pacts with ancient fire dragons or bathed in infernal flames, forever altering their souls. Unlike other monks who seek balance and control, these martial artists revel in devastation, spreading flames with every strike and turning the battlefield into a sea of fire.

Embers of the Inferno

At 3rd level, you unlock the devastating power of the Infernal Dragon, igniting your strikes and striking fear into those who dare stand before you.

  • Infernal Strikes: Your unarmed strikes can deal fire damage instead of bludgeoning damage. Additionally, whenever you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can choose to deal an additional 1d4 fire damage. This fire damage increases to 1d6 at 6th level, 1d8 at 11th level, and 1d10 at 17th level. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiencie bonus.
  • Draconic Terror: When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can spend 1 ki point to force the target to make a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier). On a failed save, the creature is frightened of you until the end of your next turn.
  • Ignition Stance: When you use Flurry of Blows, you may spend 1 ki point to cause flames to erupt from your fists. Until the end of your turn, your unarmed strikes ignite creatures, causing them to take fire damage equal to your Wisdom modifier at the start of their turns until they take an action to extinguish the flames.

Flameborn Movement

At 6th level, the power of dragons imbues you with incredible speed and agility. You can move as quickly as the flame itself, leaving fire in your wake.

  • Fire Trail: When you use Step of the Wind, you can spend 1 additional ki point to leave a trail of fire behind you till the end of your next turn. Any creature that enters or starts its turn in this trail takes fire damage equal to your Wisdom Modifier (minimum 1) + half your Monk level (rounded down).

  • Dragonflight: You gain the ability to briefly glide through the air. As a bonus action, you can spend 1 ki point to gain a flying speed of 30 feet for 1 minute, if you do not use this movement, at the end of your turn you glide down equal to the remaining movement. If you land, the effect stops. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses after a long rest.

Dragon’s Wrath Unleashed

At 11th level, you gain mastery over destructive flames, allowing you to unleash massive bursts of fire upon your foes.

  • Infernal Breath: As an action, you can spend 4 ki points to exhale a 30-foot cone of fire. Each creature in the cone must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier), taking 6d6 fire damage on a failed save or half as much on a success. Flammable objects in the area ignite instantly.
  • Blazing Counter: When a creature misses you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction to strike back with a burning fist. If you expand 2 ki points, you make an unarmed strike against the attacker, and on a hit, they take an extra 1d6 fire damage.

Dragon’s Inferno

At 17th level, you become a true avatar of draconic fire, capable of unleashing devastation upon entire battlefields.

  • Dragon’s Inferno: As an action, you can spend 6 ki points to create a 40-foot radius explosion of fire centered on you. Each creature in the area must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier). On a failure, a creature takes 10d10 fire damage and is set ablaze for 1 minute, taking 2d6 fire damage at the start of each of its turns. On a successful save, a creature takes half damage and is not ignited. Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.
  • Wings of the Inferno: You sprout wings made of fire, gaining a flying speed of 60 feet. While flying, your melee attacks deal an additional 2d8 fire damage. You can activate this feature as a bonus action, and it lasts for 1 minute. You can use this feature once per long rest, unless you spend 8 ki points to use it again.
