Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

Silent and swift, the Veilbound Tactician blends rogue cunning with subtle restorative magic, mending wounds and shielding allies from the shadows. Unlike traditional rogues, they manipulate the battlefield with illusions, evasive tricks, and ghostly precision.

Moving unseen, they heal before wounds turn fatal, shroud companions in protective veils, and step between worlds to escape danger. Whether acting as an unseen guardian or a tactical mastermind, the Veilbound Tactician is always one step ahead, ensuring their allies survive while their enemies stumble in the dark.

Shadow’s Embrace

3rd-level Veilbound Tactician feature

Your connection to the unseen grants you the ability to mend wounds and conceal allies in spectral veils.

  • Shadow Mend: As a bonus action, you can touch a creature to restore 1d8 + your Dexterity or Wisdom modifier (your choice) hit points. If the target is at full health, they gain temporary hit points equal to half the healing rolled. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

  • Phantom Veil: As a reaction, when an ally within 30 feet is attacked, you can impose disadvantage on the attack roll and grant the ally half cover (+2 AC) until the start of their next turn. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Cloaked Guardian

9th-level Veilbound Tactician feature

Your mastery of shadow magic enhances your ability to protect and reposition allies.

  • Ghoststep Reflex: When you heal an ally with Shadow Mend, they can immediately move 10 feet without provoking opportunity attacks. Additionally, you can now use Shadow Mend on yourself as part of a Cunning Action.

  • Umbral Ward: As a reaction, when an ally within 15 feet takes damage, you can teleport to their location, taking half of the damage for them. If this reduces the damage to zero, you and the ally both become invisible until the start of your next turn. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Master of the Hidden Path

13th-level Veilbound Tactician feature

You have learned to slip between realms, saving allies and avoiding harm with supernatural grace.

  • Shrouded Revival: As a reaction when an ally within 30 feet drops to 0 hit points, you can teleport to them and restore hit points equal to 2d8 + your Dexterity modifier. The ally also gains advantage on their next attack roll or ability check. You can use this feature once per short rest.

  • Wraithbound Escape:  As a reaction when you take damage, you can instantly turn ethereal until the start of your next turn, allowing you to move through creatures and objects. If an ally is within 10 feet, you can bring them into the ethereal plane with you. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Shadow Sovereign

17th-level Veilbound Tactician feature

Your connection to the veil grants you unparalleled mastery over life, death, and darkness.

Eclipse Rebirth: When you use Shrouded Revival, you can choose up to 3 creatures instead of one. Those allies heal to half their hit point maximum instead of rolling, and they gain resistance to all damage for one round. You can use this feature once per long rest.

Veil of the Last Whisper: As an action, you can create a 40-foot radius shadow veil that lasts for 1 minute:

  • Allies inside the veil gain advantage on Dexterity saving throws and are heavily obscured from enemies
  • Enemies in the veil have disadvantage on attack rolls.
  • You can move the veil 10 feet per turn as a bonus action.

You can use this feature once per long rest.
