Base Class: Bard
The College of Conducting brings out a bard’s control over other entities, enhancing their spellcasting abilities in ways that compel souls to follow orders. This subclass allows the user to almost conduct their enemies, easing danger on the rest of the party during combat.
Level 3: Conductor's Baton
Unlike other colleges which empower their followers to take the spotlight, you have always been more inclined to make other people do your bidding. You gain access to a Conductor's Baton which becomes your spellcasting focus for your College of Conducting features.
Baton Master: You gain a baton which must be used to cast any spells, actions or benefits you gain through the College of Conducting subclass. The baton can also be used as a weapon, dealing 1d4 bludgeoning damage on a hit. The baton is classed as a simple weapon. You gain proficiency with the baton. If you already have proficiency in simple weapons, you can gain mastery of the baton instead, giving it the sap property.
Conduct: As a bonus action, you can target a creature within 30ft of you. The creature must make a charisma saving throw, gaining the charmed condition on a failed save. The range from which you can cast Conduct increases to 60ft at 7 level, 90ft at 10 level and 120ft at 15 level.
Charming Conviction: Gain proficiency in the persuasion and intimidation skills. If you already have proficiency in both of these skills, you may gain expertise in one of these skills instead.
Level 6: Commander
You learn a series of commands which you can inflict on enemies using your baton.
Imposing Order: This trait gives you access to the following spells: Hold Person, Compelled Duel, Crown of Madness, Suggestion. These spells do not count towards your prepared spells. You can cast any combination of the spells granted by this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest. (Compelled Duel and Crown of Madness are not available online because I only have access to core rules on D&D beyond).
Charismatic Speech: You may take the Inspiring Leader feat for free, provided you meet the requirements. If you already have this feat, boost your Wisdom or Charisma score by 2, or boost both scores by 1.
Level 14: Orchestral Monarchy
Your training under the College of Conducting has granted you near-perfect control over the battlefield.
Stage Fright: Gain the Cause Fear spell as a cantrip. (This feature is not available on D&D Beyond because I only have access to core rules.)
Unparalleled Conviction: Gain permanent advantage on any charisma skill check.
Word of Protection: When you are attacked, as a reaction, command a creature other than the attacker within 5ft of yourself to take a hit for you. The target must make a charisma saving throw. On a failed save, you and the creature will both take half damage. You may use word of protection a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
