Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks who follow the path of the Warrior of the Spectral Revenant have forged a connection to the spirit realm, whether through intense training, a near-death experience, or an ancient ritual that bound their essence to the veil between life and death. By shaping fragments of their own soul into spectral blades, they strike with ghostly precision, phasing between realms to eliminate foes with ruthless efficiency. These warriors move like whispers of the afterlife, teleporting through the battlefield in an unpredictable dance of death, their strikes bypassing walls and barriers as if the world itself cannot contain them. Whether they are a revenant seeking vengeance, a disciplined hunter enforcing balance between realms, or a warrior who has glimpsed the other side and returned forever changed, the Spectral Revenant is a relentless force—one that cannot be outrun, outmaneuvered, or escaped.

Level 3: Soul Rend

When you take the Warrior of the Spectral Revenant subclass, your discipline to the manipulation of spirit realm allows you to rip shards of your very soul into weapons, striking down foes from afar as your assault vanish into the ether. Whenever you take the Attack action, you can summon a spectral blade from your free hand and make the attack with that blade. The blade acts as a simple melee weapon with the finesse and thrown properties.

  • Soul Rends have a normal range of 60 feet and no long range.
  • The blade acts as a Monk Weapon and deals Force damage.
  • The blade grants the Slow Weapon Mastery property when used.
  • The Soul Rend vanishes immediately after it hits or misses its target, leaving no mark.

Level 3: Revenant's Mark

You brand a foe with your lingering soul essence, ensuring they never escape your relentless pursuit. When you hit a creature with your Soul Rend, you can spend 1 Focus Point to mark the enemy as your quarry for a number of hours equal to your Monk level divided by four (a minimum of one, rounded down) or until the creature dies or you us a Bonus Action to end the mark. You gain the following benefits against a marked target at level 3:

  • Hunter Seeker. You gain Advantage on Perception and Survival ability checks to track your target.
  • Corrupting Mark. Once per turn, your Unarmed Strikes deal an extra 1d6 Necrotic damage to the target.

For one minute after you first use Revenant's Mark, if you hit another target with Soul Rend, you may use your Bonus Action to move the mark to another target without spending another Focus Point.

1) Corrupting Mark

At level 3, once per turn your Unarmed Strikes deal an extra 1d6 Necrotic damage to the target marked by Revenant's Mark.

2) Exploiting Mark

At level 6, your insight into a quarry’s weaknesses sharpen, allowing you to land devastating, unnatural strikes with eerie precision. When you apply Revenant’s Mark, you now Critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20 on the d20 against a marked target.

3) Seeking Mark

At level 11, your connection to a marked soul transcends physical boundaries, letting you sense their presence no matter where they hide.  When you apply Revenant’s Mark, you now know the exact location of your target while it remains on the same plane of existence and can see its soul even when behind total cover. The mark now lasts for a full day.

Also, once per Short or Long Rest as a Bonus Action, your spectral sight grants you the ability to sense the life force of all creatures within 60 feet until the end of your turn, allowing you to ignore total cover when first marking a target.

4) Searing Mark

At level 17, you sear your presence into a creature’s soul, binding them to your wrath for all time. When you use Revenant’s Mark, you can now spend 4 Focus Points to brand the target permanently, until the creature dies, or until you remove the mark (no action required).

You gain the following benefits against any creature marked in this way:

  • Creatures have Disadvantage on saving throws against your Stunning Strike. On a success, the target’s Speed is reduced to zero until the start of your next turn instead of halved, unless the creature is immune to the Stunned condition.
  • Your Corrupting Mark ability now does an extra 1d6 Necrotic damage per attack instead of once per turn.

Level 3: Piercing the Veil

Your ability to pierce the ethereal veil gives you heightened sight. You gain Darkvision with a range of 60 feet. If you already have Darkvision, its range increases by 60 feet.

Level 6: Veil Step

Strikes with your spectral blades can tear the veil between worlds, letting you step through the void to reappear where you are needed most. Once per turn, when you hit a creature with your Soul Rend or target an unoccupied space you can see within 60 feet, you can spend 1 Focus Point to teleport to an unoccupied space within 5 feet of it.

If you Veil Step to a creature marked with Revenant’s Mark, you gain Advantage on your next melee attack before the end of your current turn.

Level 11: Phasing Strike

Your spectral blades no longer obey the laws of the living world, passing through walls and armor to carve directly into the essence of your foes. When you make a ranged attack with Soul Rend, you can now phase the blades through solid objects like walls, barriers, or creatures up to 5 feet thick, as you pierce the veil to target the creature’s soul.  Attacks are made at Disadvantage unless you know the exact location of the target.

Level 17: Searing Mark
