Base Class: Blood Hunter
The order of the Forsaken are the hands of the Forsaken Being. By pledging unending allegiance to the Forsaken One they had forced upon them a lesser curse of the same nature. The members of the order are pushed to weaponize this curse in a way that befits their skillset and become the agents of their lord.
Rite of the Forsaken
When you join this order at 3rd level, you learn the Rite of the Forsaken as part of your Crimson Rite feature. You do no extra damage when you activate the Rite of the Dawn. Instead, you gain the following benefits:
- You are immune to all magic from divine sources
- Any creature you hit while your rite is active is unable to heal and has disadvantage on concentration checks made to maintain a spell until the end of their next turn
- Your critical hit threshold when attacking celestials, fey and fiends is lowered by one. This threshold further lowers by one each time your hemocraft dice increases (-2 at level 5, -3 at level 11 and -4 at level 17)
Cursed sight
When the forsaken one accepts you as his blood hunter, he grants you access to his knowledge of the divine. You gain proficiency in the Religion skill.
In addition, as an action, you can expand your awareness of life around you. Until the end of your next turn, you can sense creatures who have a connection with the divine within 120 feet of you without having to see them. This ability can penetrate most barriers but is blocked by 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or 3 feet of wood or dirt. You know the distance and direction of each creature, as well as the creature’s type. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Anti-smite
Upon reaching 7th level, while you have your rite of the forgotten active and hit with an attack you may spend one use of this feature to imbue the attack with anti-magic properties to attempt to dispel a spell or magical effect. To do so the damage dealt by the imbued attack must beat a DC of 10+ the spell's level. You may use this action a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus and regain its uses upon finishing a long rest
Hatred of the Forsaken One
Starting at 11th level, your rite of the forsaken begins to cause greater harm to those who are close to the divine. Your rite of the forsaken now deals damage equal to one roll of your hemocraft dice to any creature or object under the effect of a spell or divine blessing or that are currently under the effect of any of your blood maledict features.
Soul Curse of the Forgotten
At 15th level, you've gained such mastery over the curse of the forsaken that you may impose it upon others for a short time. You gain the Soul Curse of the Forgotten for your Blood Maledict feature. This doesn’t count against your number of blood curses known.
The Soul Curse of the Forgotten allows you to choose any creature you can see within 30 feet of you and using a bonus action attempt to imbue them with the anti-magic properties of your curse. The target makes a Constitution saving throw against your save DC and upon failing has all magical spells and effects on them dispelled and are unable to be affected by magic for the next minute. The creature can make another Constitution saving throw at the end of each of its turns to attempt to end the effect. This Blood Maledict can be used on creatures without blood.
Amplify: The target's constitution saving throws are done at disadvantage.
Forsaken by Death
Upon reaching 18th level, even the gods of death cannot reach your soul to take you to the afterlife. Upon reaching dying you have learned to protect your forsaken soul by transferring it into to your weapon as if under the effect of the Magic Jar spell.
Should you choose to possess a new body however it slowly becomes your own, after 1d10 days your in-game statistics and abilities return to what they were in your original body and the trapped soul is destroyed. However, if you are killed in your new form or your soul is lost before this transformation period is complete you do not benefit from this feature again and your soul is lost.
