Base Class: Fighter
“I have stared into the void between stars — and it stared back, powerless.”
The Sentinel of the Void is a fighter who walks the boundary between the material and the arcane. Whether trained by secret orders or touched by ancient forces, they develop techniques to counter spellcasters and tear through magical defenses with ease. They are a mage's worst fear — relentless, silent, and immune to their tricks.
Nullblade Style
You’ve trained to combat spellcasters head-on.
- Spellbreaker Strikes: Once per turn when you hit a creature concentrating on a spell, it makes the Constitution saving throw to maintain concentration with disadvantage.
- Void-Edge Weaponry: You can choose to make your weapon attacks count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity. Additionally, once per short rest, when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can suppress any magical shield (e.g., Shield, Mage Armor, Arcane Ward) on them until the start of your next turn.
Arcane Sense
You gain a sixth sense for magic:
You can cast Detect Magic once per long rest without components. While active, you gain advantage on Intelligence (Arcana) or Wisdom (Perception) checks to detect hidden spellcasters or magical traps.
Arcane Severance
Your strikes unravel the threads of spells:
- Once per turn, when you deal damage to a creature that has temporary hit points or an active magical effect (e.g., from Haste, Heroism, Mage Armor, etc.), you can force them to make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength or Dexterity modifier). On a failed save, one magical effect of your choice on them ends early. (You cannot dispel magical items or class features.)
Veilpiercer
You can strike through magical barriers:
- Your weapon attacks ignore the effects of magical cover, illusions, and displacement (such as Blur, Mirror Image, or Sanctuary).
- Additionally, creatures can’t benefit from half or three-quarters cover against your weapon attacks if the cover is magical in origin.
Anti-Magic Counterstrike
You can retaliate against magic cast near you:
When a creature casts a spell within 10 feet of you, you can use your reaction to make a weapon attack against them.
If the attack hits and the spell is 5th level or lower, the target must make a Constitution saving throw (DC = damage dealt or 10, whichever is higher) or the spell fails and has no effect.
Void Execution
You become a living bane to spellcasters:
When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can choose to unleash a Void Execution (no action). The creature must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength or Dexterity modifier), or for 1 minute:
- It cannot cast spells.
- It has disadvantage on all saving throws against nonmagical weapons.
The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.
You can use this feature once per long rest or expend an Action Surge to use it again.
