Base Class: Barbarian
“When justice failed, they did not speak. They came.”
The H’dag were not kings, nor clerics, nor crusaders. They were the sentence passed down when the world refused to listen. Silent, unbidden, and unwavering, they walked the lands as harbingers of final balance — not arbiters of law, but its end.
Those who follow the Path of the Hollow Judge do not rage with wild fury. Their anger is cold. Ritual. Purposeful. They are the blade after the last bell, the silence after the final plea.
Silent Fury
Your rage is not wild, but still — a focused storm drawn from silence and certainty.
-
While raging, you cannot be charmed or frightened.
-
Your voice becomes a hollow echo, or vanishes entirely (your choice), and your presence exudes an unnatural calm that unsettles all who see you.
-
At the start of each of your turns while raging, any creature of your choice within 10 feet that can see you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier) or have disadvantage on their next attack roll made against a target other than you before the start of your next turn.
-
Executioner’s Step: While raging, the first creature you move adjacent to on your turn cannot take reactionsuntil the start of its next turn — as if caught in the moment before their judgment is delivered.
Some shout when they fight. You don’t need to. The silence is worse.
Echo of the Scales
“Judgment is not avoided. It arrives — even from afar.”
When you enter a rage, you may choose one creature within 60 feet that you can see. That creature becomes your Judgment Mark until your rage ends or it dies.
While the Judgment Mark is active:
-
You have advantage on any ability check or saving throw made to track, pursue, or locate the marked creature.
-
If the marked creature moves more than 10 feet during its turn, it takes psychic damage equal to your Rage Damage bonus (once per turn, no save).
-
The first time you hit the marked creature on each of your turns, it takes an additional 1d6 damage (psychic or force — your choice).
-
If the marked creature dies while you are raging, you may choose to transfer the mark to another creature within 60 feet as a bonus action on your next turn.
You do not chase. You close. The echo is already there, waiting.
Judgment Stands
“He does not fall. Not until the sentence is carried out.”
Your unwavering presence unnerves your foes and defies death.
-
While raging, when a creature marked by your Judgment Mark hits you with an attack, it takes psychic damage equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum 1) as backlash from resisting judgment.
-
Once per rage, when you are reduced to 0 hit points, you may instead drop to 1 hit point and release a resonant burst of will. All enemies within 10 feet must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier) or be frightened of you until the end of your next turn.
-
You still fall unconscious as normal if reduced to 0 hit points again afterward.
You will not fall until the echo fades. The scales have not yet balanced.
The Blade Remembers
You are the will of the unbroken scale — final, inevitable, and impossible to ignore.
Once per turn while raging, when you reduce a creature to 0 HP, you may choose one of the following effects:
-
Final Witness: All enemies within 10 feet of you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier) or become paralyzed until the end of their next turn. If a creature affected by this paralysis takes any damage before the start of your next turn, the effect immediately ends for that creature.
-
The Scale Tips: You can immediately move up to your speed and make one melee weapon attack as part of the same reaction.
Additionally, while raging, you are immune to psychic damage and cannot have your mind read or magically probedby any effect.
Some blades are not forged. They are remembered — and they are never truly sheathed.
