Base Class: Barbarian
Barbarians of the Ravaging Curse did not choose their path—it was thrust upon them. Cursed by lycanthropy, they have embraced its monstrous might rather than suppressing it. Their rage is no longer just fury—it is transformation, frenzy, and hunger.
Unlike those who learn to master the curse, Ravagers revel in it. As they rage, their forms become increasingly warped—jaws distend, claws rip free, and fur or scales bristle across their backs. Some have tamed their curse just enough to fight alongside others… others simply haven’t had the chance to be put down.
Blood-curse Rage
When you enter your rage, you may choose to unleash the curse. While raging and cursed:
- You grow natural weapons (teeth, claws, or tusks). Your unarmed strikes deal 1d10 slashing or piercing damage and count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity.
- You gain darkvision out to 60 feet (or +30 feet if you already have it).
- Once per turn when you reduce a creature to 0 hit points, you may choose to gain temporary hit points equal to your Constitution modifier + your Barbarian level.
- If you willingly end your rage early, you suffer 1 level of exhaustion as the curse fights to remain in control.
At 3rd level, you can smell creatures within 30 feet that are not behind total cover. You have advantage on Survival checks to track bleeding or wounded creatures.
Unnatural Metabolism
While raging and under half your hit point maximum, you regain 1d4 hit points at the start of your turn. This increases to 2d4 at 10th level.
This regeneration does not function if you are under the effect of silvered weapons, radiant damage, or holy magic (such as Protection from Evil and Good).
Monstrous Vitality
- You gain resistance to necrotic damage while raging.
- When you are forced to make a Strength, Constitution, or Wisdom saving throw, you may roll 2d6 and add the result to your save. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier per long rest.
- You are immune to diseases and can recover from one level of exhaustion after finishing a short rest (once per long rest).
Apex Predator
- While raging, your speed increases by 20 feet.
- You can climb difficult surfaces (even upside down) without needing to make an ability check.
- You can use a bonus action to emit a terrifying howl, roar, or screech. Each creature of your choice within 30 feet that can hear you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + Proficiency + Constitution modifier) or be frightened of you until the end of your next turn. Once you use this howl, you can’t do so again until you finish a short or long rest.
Curse Unleashed
As a bonus action while raging, you may unleash the full curse for 1 minute:
- You gain advantage on all Strength-based attacks, checks, and saving throws.
- You can make an additional attack when you take the Attack action.
- You have resistance to all damage except psychic and silvered weapons.
- Your natural weapons now deal 2d10 damage and score a critical hit on a 19 or 20.
At the end of this transformation, you must succeed on a DC 17 Constitution saving throw or gain 1 level of exhaustion. If you are reduced to 0 HP while in this form, you rise at the start of your next turn with 1 HP and the Frightened condition for 1 minute as your mind reels from the transformation.
Once you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you complete a long rest.
