Base Class: Sorcerer
Magic courses through your blood not in wild surges or elemental tempests, but in meticulous structure. You are descended from—or were altered by—forces that bind the Weave into patterns: ancient glyphs, long-dead archmages, divine scribes, elemental chaos, or planar beings of law. You can feel the flow of the Weave in the air you breathe. Rituals come naturally to you, and your familiar is not a pet, but a sentient manifestation of your arcane soul.
Mystic Talent
Starting at 1st level, your bloodline grants you an instinctive understanding of the weave. You become proficient in the Arcana skill if you don’t already have it. In addition, when you make an Arcana check, double your proficiency bonus for that check.
Ritualist
Also at 1st level, you gain the ability to channel the weave directly through rituals. You gain the Ritual Casting feature, allowing you to cast a Sorcerer spell you know as a ritual if that spell has the ritual tag.
In addition, you can draw on your connection to the primordial weave to expand your use of rituals and call upon a familiar formed from a spark of your arcane soul. You learn the Find Familiar spell and one 1st level spell with the Ritual tag from the Wizard spell list. These count as Sorcerer spells for you and don’t count against your number of spells known.
You learn an additional Wizard spell with the Ritual tag at 5th, 7th and 12th level. The new spell must be of a level for which you have spell slots. Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace one of the Ritual spells you know with another spell of your choice from the wizard spell list with the Ritual tag. The new spell must be of a level for which you have spell slots.
Expeditious Rites
At 6th level, your innate connection to the weave allows you to use your font of magic to fuel your rituals. When you cast a sorcerer spell as a ritual, you can spend a number of sorcery points equal to that spell’s level to use the spell's normal casting time, rather than adding 10 minutes to it.
Resonant Familiar
Beginning at 14th level, your familiar ascends to a higher form. Your familiar gains additional hit points equal to your Intelligence modifier. In addition, when you summon your familiar, you can choose one of the normal forms for your familiar or one of the following special forms: imp, pseudodragon, quasit, or sprite.
In addition, when you cast a spell targeting yourself, you can also affect your familiar with the spell if it is within 30 feet of you.
Soulbound Spirit
At 18th level, your familiar serves as an unbreakable connection to the weave, gaining the following benefits.
- You no longer require components to cast Find Familiar, and the spell can be cast as a ritual for its normal casting time.
- While your familiar is within 30 feet of you, you may choose to have it concentrate on a spell instead of you for as long as it remains within 30 feet of you or its hit points fall to 0.
- When you cast a sorcerer spell, you may designate your familiar’s location as the spell’s point of origin.
