Base Class: Sorcerer
Born of potent magical energy, other powerful Sorcerers, or even just sensitive to the ambient magic of the world. Whispers of the Arcane Sorcerers are able to bend magic to their will and control it to a higher degree than many other similar Sorcerers. Choosing to opt with the use of their mind rather than the internal charisma that they might possess.
Arcane energy run's through their veins and they use their intelligence to bend it to their will. From making magical wards to changing the magical type of spells, to even stealing the magical power of others. Arcane whisper Sorcerers are hunted and looked for by many for their sheer magical talent, out of need, awe, and sometimes fear. A whisper of the Arcane may have constantly glowing magical eyes or have magical runes etched into their skin, maybe magical tattoos that grow around their body. These Sorcerers are the embodiment of magic and it's raw power.
Arcane Affinity
Arcane magic runs through your veins. You gain access to the Wizard spell list, you can understand arcane text and runes as long as you read the base language as your mind and ocular vision has attuned and adapted to arcane currents of energy.
Protective Wards
As arcane magic flows through your body, it causes magical runes and/or wards to manifest around your body..
Parts of your body are surrounded by a arcane shell. When you aren’t wearing armor, you can add your intelligence to your AC
Arcane Manipulation
Starting at 6th level, You have learned to change and manipulate the arcane energy you use to cast spells. When you cast a spell that would deal damage you can spend a Sorcery point to change the damage type that spell. At 14th level you can split the damage type between two different damage types 50/50.
Empowering Backdraft
At 14th level, you gain the ability to pull back ambient magic from potent spells that you cast. Whenever you cast a spell of 4th level or higher you can choose one of the following options to occur on the spell that you cast :
- You can add your proficiency modifier to the damage of the spell (If it is a damaging spell / the damage type is force damage)
- You can damage a second target that is within 10ft of your original target equal to your proficiency modifier (The damage type is force damage)
- You can regain temporary hit points equal to your proficiency modifier.
- You can increase the Save DC of the spell by half your proficiency (rounded down) (If the spell requires a save)
Arcane Vampirism
Beginning at 18th level, you can Pull and rip the magical power from others away and devour it into your own. You can use a action to steal a number of spell slots equal too a total spell level of 4 (4 1st level spells, 2 2nd level spells, etc). If you use this ability on a creature that does not have spell slots or innate spell casting, nothing happens.
