Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Your patron is a mysterious entity from the Shadowfell, be it a Dark Lords trapped inside their Dread Domains, a Dark Power which jail these evils for their own amusement, or The Raven Queen whom watches the world and ensures fate's design, to even the very Shadowfell itself. Regardless, your power manifests from one of these dark beings, and empowers you with their intoxicating, dreadful might. However, beware. While Archdevil's deal in contracts, and the Archfey are fickle, the Shadowfallen are each unique and unbound by creed or code, each have their own grand designs, and cannot be compelled.

The various patrons all offer the power to bestow malignant curses, deliver punishing blows, and bolster the warlock. Accepting this power places you as a cog in the Machine, at best you are a fleeting amusement, at worst, you will never escape their machinations.

Expanded Spell List

5 phantom steed, conjure barrage
7 phantasmal killer, death ward
9 banishing smite, steel wind strike

Curse of Shadows

3rd-Level The Shadowfallen Feature

Your patron empowers you to curse a target with the power of the shadowfell, altering their fate and guiding them to the grave.

When you would hit a Creature, you may, as a bonus action, bestow one of the following Curses to a Target for 1 minute:

Curse of Dread. Attack Rolls you make against the Cursed Target score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.

Curse of Hate: When the Cursed Target targets another Creature other than you with a Spell or Attack, they take Necrotic Damage equal to your Charisma Modifier.

Curse of Torment: Upon hitting the Cursed Target, it has Disadvantage on the next saving throws it makes before the end of your next turn.

If a cursed Target dies before the curse ends, you may move all curses it had onto another creature you would hit with a Bonus Action.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a Long Rest.

Siphon Life

6th-level The Shadowfallen Feature

Your patron grows invested in your journey, having begun to show potential, they invest further power into you, making you harder to kill, but with this comes even greater expectations.

You can siphon the vitality of creatures you've bestowed your Shadow Curse upon, granting you their life force when they attack you.

When a creature afflicted with your Shadow Curse would deal damage to you, you may use your reaction to reduce the damage by 1d8 plus your Charisma Modifier for each Curse you have bestowed upon them.

Shadow's Right Hand

14th-level The Shadowfallen Feature

You become the embodiment of the Shadowfell. When you use your Shadow Curse feature, you gain the following benefits:

Reaper. Your Attacks deal an extra 2d8 Force damage against a Cursed Target.

Impending Doom. You have Advantage on D20 Tests against a Cursed Target.

Resistant Shadows. You have Resistance to all damage from a Cursed Target.

Shadow Mastery

14th-level The Shadowfallen Feature

The Shadows envelop you with greater power, infusing your curses with the negative energy plane's power directly from it's source.

Restless Curse. Whenever you roll initiative, you gain a use of your Shadow Curse Feature.

Undying Curse. When a creature dies while cursed, you can move the curse onto a new target on a subsequent turn without a action.

Unending Curse. Shadow Curse's duration is now indefinite until dispelled.
