Base Class: Barbarian
Barbarians who walk the Path of the Starbound are rare, born beneath strange constellations or marked by a falling star in childhood. Their rage is not merely blood-boiling fury—it is the unleashed pulse of celestial power.
When a Starbound Barbarian enters a rage, they call upon the radiant fire of the cosmos. Light bends around them. Gravity trembles. And those who stand too close may find themselves scorched by stellar wrath.
These warriors often find themselves drawn to ancient ruins, sacred sites, or fallen meteors—compelled by forces they do not fully understand. Some believe they are the chosen avatars of dead gods. Others claim to be echoes of forgotten oaths made when the world was young.
Whatever the truth, one thing is certain: when they rage, the heavens answer.
Celestial Rage
3rd-Level Path of the Starbound Feature
**Your rage channels the energy of the stars.**
When you enter a rage, choose one of the following celestial effects:
- **Nova Pulse.** When you enter your rage, each creature of your choice within 10 feet takes radiant damage equal to your proficiency bonus. This can only happen once per rage.
- **Starstep.** While raging, you can use a bonus action on your turn to teleport up to 15 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. You can use this ability once per turn.
Additionally, your melee weapon attacks while raging deal **+1 radiant damage**.
Cosmic Awareness
3rd-Level Path of the Starbound Feature
You gain proficiency in your choice of Arcana or Perception.
Additionally, you can sense when a celestial, fiend, or aberration is within 1 mile of you. You do not learn the creature's location or number, only its type. This awareness functions even through magical barriers and is always active.
Gravity Anchor
6th-Level Path of the Starbound Feature
While raging:
- You cannot be **forcibly moved** or **knocked prone**.
- If a creature within 10 feet of you attempts to teleport or shift to another plane, it must make a **Charisma saving throw** (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier). On a failed save, the teleportation fails and the creature takes **2d6 force damage**.
Each creature is affected only once per round.
Starburst Leap
10th-Level Path of the Starbound Feature
Gain flying speed 30 ft. during rage. Land to blind enemies and deal 3d6 radiant damage once per rage.
Avatar of the Constellation
When you rage, you become a living constellation:
- You emit **bright light in a 20-foot radius** and **dim light for another 20 feet**.
- Your melee attacks deal an additional **1d8 radiant damage**.
- Once per long rest, if you are reduced to 0 HP while raging, you may instead drop to 1 HP and release a radiant nova.
Each creature of your choice within 30 feet must make a **Constitution saving throw** (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier). On a failed save, it takes **5d10 radiant damage**; on a success, it takes half.
