Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards of the College of Quips are masters of the well-placed word. They understand that a perfectly timed remark can do what weapons cannot: unravel focus, inspire greatness, or shut down an enemy before they’ve even begun. These bards live in the moment, observing, reacting, and stealing the spotlight not through volume, but through precision.

Quip of Opportunity

You’ve learned to speak just when it counts. When a creature you can see within 60 feet of you makes an ability check, attack roll, or saving throw, you can use your reaction to expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration and grant it to the creature before it rolls.

Inspired Insults

Your verbal strikes carry the full weight of your presence.

When you cast Vicious Mockery, you replace the cantrip’s damage die with your Bardic Inspiration die.

Quick Witted

You can cast spells that require only Verbal components as reactions. The highest level you can cast scales with your level. At level 6, you can cast 1st level. At level 12, you can cast 2nd-level spells, and at level 18, you can cast 3rd-level spells. You can only use this feature in between turns.

The maximum number of times you can use this feature is equal to your Charisma modifier. Regain all uses after a long rest.

Last Word

Sometimes, one sentence is all it takes to ruin someone’s entire plan.

Once per long rest, when a creature you can see within 60 feet of you attempts to move, take an action, take a bonus action, or interact with an object, you can use your reaction to deliver a perfectly timed verbal interruption.

The creature’s turn immediately ends. It does not complete the triggering action and can’t move, take actions, or bonus actions for the rest of its turn. It may still take reactions and maintain concentration.

This feature does not require a saving throw.
