Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks who follow the Way of the Sacred Fist are spiritual warriors who blend divine magic and martial prowess into a single harmonious path. These monks forge a sacred pact with a deity, channeling divine energy through their ki to heal the wounded, smite the wicked, and defend the faithful. Unlike clerics, Sacred Fists do not merely preach their faith—they embody it, striking with radiance and moving with divine purpose.

Whether serving as temple guardians, wandering exorcists, or champions of forgotten gods, Sacred Fists carry the light of the divine in their hands and the will of the heavens in their hearts. Their fists burn with radiant fury, and their spells offer both mercy and judgment.

Divine Guidance

Your divine pact enhances your spiritual focus. You add your Wisdom modifier to your maximum number of ki points

Spellcasting

When you reach 3rd level, you gain the ability to cast spells. See Spells Rules for the general rules of spellcasting and the Spells Listing for the cleric spell list.

Cantrips

You learn three cantrips of your choice from the cleric spell list. You learn another cleric cantrip of your choice at 10th level.

Spell Slots

The Way of the Sacred Fist Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your cleric spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell’s level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.

For example, if you know the 1st-level spell Shield of Faith and have a 1st-level and a 2nd-level spell slot available, you can cast Shield of Faith using either slot.

Spells Known of 1st-Level and Higher

You know three 1st-level cleric spells of your choice.

Spellcasting Ability

Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for your cleric spells, since you learn your spells through prayer and self reflection. You use your Wisdom whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Wisdom modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a cleric spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.

Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier

Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier

Sacred Flame

Your strikes radiate divine power. When you take the Attack action, you may spend 1 ki point to have your unarmed strikes deal an additional 1d6 radiant damage until the end of your turn. This increases to 1d8 at 11th level.

Divine Fortitude

Your spiritual resilience protects your body. When you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Strength or Constitution saving throw to take only half damage, you instead take no damage on a success, and only half damage on a failure.

Sacred Avatar

You can become a divine vessel of your god’s will. As a bonus action, you may spend 5 ki points to enter your Sacred Avatar state for 1 minute:

  • You emit a 10-foot aura of divine energy. At the start of your turn, all hostile creatures in the aura take radiant damage equal to your Wisdom modifier, and all allies (including you) regain hit points equal to the same amount.

  • You gain a fly speed equal to your movement speed.

  • You have resistance to all damage.

  • Once per turn while in this state, you may spend 3 ki points to cast a known spell as part of your Attack action.

You can’t use this feature again until you finish a long rest.
