Base Class: Rogue
The Whisperflame rogue is deeply tied to dark forces and personal betrayal. The channel forbidden power, bypassing divine protections and manipulating both physical and psychological states of those they target. Their abilities have a heavy narrative weight-burning marks, cursed studies, and betrayal mid-combat all speak of a deeply conflicted character, one who might walk the line between hero and villain.
Burning Silence
Whenever you successfully deal sneak attack damage, the damage is accompanied by a supernatural flame that burns with eerie silence, leaving behind a mark shaped like a burning flame.
The mark lingers for 1 hour and can only be seen by those who can see magic or are attuned to the arcane forces you channel.
Soul Piercer
When you deal sneak attack damage, you can choose to deal psychic or necrotic damage instead of the normal damage type. This bypasses any resistance divine targets ( clerics, paladins, celestial beings, etc) may have against these damage types.
Unseen Curse
Cursed Target : As a bonus action, you study a creature within 60 feet for 1 minute, marking them with a subtle arcane curse. This curse allows you to strike with enhances precision and power.
Double Sneak Attack : If the creature is unaware of your presence (not currently looking in your direction or distracted by an ally, for example) your first successful sneak attack against them deals double damage
Echo of Betrayal
Betrayal : Once per day, if an ally you have fought beside for 24 hours is within 30 ft of you, you may betray them mid-battle—dealing a massive sneak attack. Dealing 10d6 damage
Siphoning Vitality : As well as the damage dealt, you siphon away a portion of their life force as temporary hit points equal to the damage dealt
