Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

Embrace the darkness and wield its power. Shadowbrands blend supernatural perception, necrotic bursts, and demonic traits to become swift, elusive, and deadly. You see what others can’t and strike before they realize you were ever there.

Level 3: My Brand!

You can see through magical and nonmagical darkness up to 80 feet. You also gain blindsight within 15 feet.

You learn detect magic and can cast it without somatic or verbal components a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest. When cast this way, it lasts 1 minute and doesn’t require concentration.

Level 3: Necrotic Burst

As an action, release necrotic energy in a 15-foot cone. Each creature must make a Constitution save (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity modifier), taking necrotic damage equal to your Sneak Attack on a failure, or half on a success.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Dexterity modifier (minimum once), regaining all uses on a long rest.

Level 9: Necrofire

When you hit with a melee weapon attack, you can forgo 1d6 of your Sneak Attack to cause a 10-foot burst of necrofire. All other creatures in the area take 2d6 necrotic damage.

Level 13: Monster in the Making

As a reaction when falling, reduce the damage by 4 × your rogue level.

As a bonus action, sprout wings and gain a hover speed equal to your movement. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Level 17: Mark of the Abyss

As a bonus action, you can brand a creature you can see within 60 feet with an abyssal sigil. This mark lasts for 1 minute or until the target dies.

While the mark is active:

  • You always deal Sneak Attack damage to the marked target, even if you don’t have advantage or an ally nearby.
  • Once per turn when you deal Sneak Attack damage to the marked target, deal an additional 4d10 necrotic damage.
  • You know the direction of the marked target as long as you’re on the same plane of existence.

You can use this feature once per long rest. When the marked creature dies, you can immediately regain one expended use of Necro Burst or your Demonic Wings feature.
