Base Class: Wizard

Similar to the School of Transmutation, the School of Alchemy enables transformation from one substance to another. However, many alchemancers focus on the more supportive aspects of magic, including healing and spell-storage, as well as the creation of potions and salves. Alchemancers often find jobs as scientists, engineers, or healers.

Scholarly Supplies

At 3nd level, you gain proficiency in Alchemist’s Supplies. By expending a spell slot of at least 1st level or higher, you can create these supplies by spending 10 minutes in a trance-like state.

Alchemancer's Brew

Also at 3nd level, you can infuse the effects of a spell into a potion. By spending 10 minutes with your Alchemist’s supplies and by casting a spell of 1st level or higher, you can save the effects of this spell in a potion. This potion can be either ingested or thrown as a ranged weapon attack. This potion remains effective for 24 hours, after which the potion expires and does not work.

Philosopher's Touch

At 6th level, your very touch can alter the attributes of an object. By touching a medium or smaller sized, non-magical and non-creature object, you can give it any of the following effect for 1 hour or until a dispel magic or similar spell is cast on it.:

  • You make the object glow, causing it to give of 15ft of bright light and a further 15ft of dim light.
  • You alter the material the object is made of.
  • You give the object a different texture by making it cooler, warmer, smooth, rough, or some other texture.
  • You make an ingestible object or weapon poisonous. A creature that ingests this object must make a Constitution saving throw equal to your Spell Save DC. On a fail, the creature takes 2d8 damage and half on a success. After any damage is dealt, the object loses its potency.

In addition, you can give an object any other effect deemed worthy by your DM.

Alchemist's Understanding

At 10th level, your knowledge of alchemy and transmutation increase the effectiveness of your spells. You can cast any known transmutation spell of 3rd level or lower as ritual spells, even if they don’t have the ritual spell tag.

Alchemancer's Mastery

At 14th level, your brew and touch become increasingly effective. Potions that you make can no longer expire, and objects altered by your Philosopher’s touch remain altered indefinitely.
